GORD  Yes to fix the annoying trasport error problem, just download version 1.9.2. Oh except that when you choose to download this, you will get a server not found message. So hotline, "WHAT'S UP WITH THAT!" This transport error message just became more annoying! So as of yet I can't rate Hotline, because this bug is bothering me so much I refuse to use it until I can get this update.

THE MACMEKANIK  Hotline 1.8.5 is the most stable client and server out there. Yes there is an OSX native Carbon version of 1.8.5, But you need to go Fish. The installer launches in classic but after the install the HL 1.8.5 runs in Panther 10.3.2 and all other previous OSX versions perfectly fine. I tried using 1.9,1.9.1,1.9.2, and they ALL CRASH within a day! HL 1.8.5 SERVER has not needed reboots for 2 months or longer! True Client 1.8.5 gives you funky errors, however it NEVER CRASHES! I use it as my internal networking software over Apples because of such little overhead and much greater speed. My 2¢.

ANONYMOUS  Crap! Still does'nt support long filenames on OSX!!! KDX is a good replacement (and supposedly Hinkley is involved with KDX to boot). But If you still need to use Hotline protocol, Terra server is a workable substitute that Does Do Long Filenames (but no Classic-ResourceFork support)!

MASTERKEW  1.9.2 is an improvement, but back when they were showing off 2.0... that looked nice. I was really looking forward to that.

the single server I use that still exists works justa bout as well as it used too, so I guess it's just as good.

AARON (THE MAN GOD)  Okay everyone, THIS APP IS A GIANT P2P DEATH TRAP!!!!! I download this thing and I'm hit with windows out the wazoo telling me to click this server, dl here, vist this, and chat with that, it can drive a guy mad! After the window orgy is done you still have no idea how to get the files you want.

ERAZORHEAD  essentially the same as 1.8, with some small changes, mostly good. servers can no longer display their own banners. a couple new buttons on the toolbar. a marginally-useful-at-best built-in help system. a new "message board" which is essentially the same as the old non-threaded news. an "open download folder" button at the top of the file browser. and the icon was really super-uglified. but most importantly, the truly maddening "transport error" bug seems to be fixed (finally!)

altogether a definite improvement for os X users. in my opinion, far better than any of the third-party clients. glad to see the hotline project not totally dead
