DESCRIPTION

Taco HTML Edit is a full-featured HTML editor and PHP editor. As an HTML editor, Taco HTML Edit empowers its users to rapidly create their own web sites. It is designed exclusively for Mac OS X and has many advanced features including spell checking, live browser previewing, PHP previewing, syntax checking, and much more. Taco HTML Edit includes a free 30-day trial.

The Component Library, new in Taco HTML Edit 2.5, allows you to select one of 20 components, customize it, and insert it into an HTML document. From Slideshows to Pie Charts, from Accordion Controls to Scrollable Tables, the Component Library has the widgets that web designers have often wanted to add to web pages, but until now have been very encumbering. The Component Library revolutionizes how web designers create web pages.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.5.3:
  • Fixes issues in the Tabbed Content component that could cause incorrect rendering and behavior in Internet Explorer.
  • Fixes an issue where undo would sometimes not work correctly after performing a Batch Find and Replace.
  • Fixes a crash that could occur after a component window is closed.
  • Fixes an issue in the Image Zoom component where the zoom animation would not occur when the zoomed image was in Internet Explorer's cache. The fixes for this issue are in the component files TSWUtils.js and TSWImageZoom.js.
  • Fixes an issue where the window toolbar items may become unresponsive.
  • Fixes an exception that may occur when opening the Recent Projects menu.

DIARBYRAG  Me again, my mother and father always told me that it takes a strong person to admit when they were wrong or hasty when making comment...

...well that day is today, I have downloaded and tried the new improved Taco html edit and the component part is... very good, I don't think you make enough of that feature as I did not see it the first time and I can't think of another program that does it as simply, even Coda which I do really like does not appear to have anything similar... unless anyone knows better

I will give it a thorough workout asap and perhaps apart from eating my words I may well be getting the credit card out

DIARBYRAG  Hey I used this program for a while when I was on the css learning curve and for free it was ok.

But 0 to 25$ is a step too far. 10$ maybe

But after a due consideration I decided it was way better to spend the necessary $'s extra to buy coda which is way better.

nice try, no cigar !

GHOKIE  Taco's a good little program. I used v1.x (free) for basic code management. However, $24.95 for this program is a little steep. I've switched to Smultron, which has basically the same functionality and is free/donationware.

If you're looking for a capable editor, give Smultron a try.

RICOBLUES  I've use Taco for a lot, making 15$ of dontation. The software was not implemented so I switch to SkEdit (great editor).

Programmers work must be supporte. Shareware is good, donationware too, but I'm very sad to know Taco is shareware without any information or upgrade policy.

Have a nice day. Riccardo.

TESLANAUT  Wow. Really surprised that out of no where and no warning that it is now shareware.

GLOBETROTTERDK  Absolutely great - and it is free of charge. Amazing. I only wish it was possible to edit files directly through Yummy FTP, the same way that TextWrangler can.

Keep up the good work!

IRNBRU001  I've used it for a while now and I'm not impressed. I find all the features clunky. It just is not smooth enough or crisp enough to use for large projects.

It's free but that doesn't make it worth using.

AKROBAT  It's not meant for large projects as you put it. I suggest you use Dreamweaver or one of the other 'pay-through-the-nose' apps. Eveyone else here finds it definately worth using, so... that's your problem really.
