DESCRIPTION
JPEGDeux is a program that displays slideshows of image files. The shows can be displayed in a window, full screen, or in the Dock (!), and there are several customization options.

The name comes from the program JPEGView, which I admire as a specialized tool that works intuitively and is done right (it still runs great in the Classic environment despite being written in 1995). JPEGDeux is open-sourced under the BSD license. The code demonstrates some interesting Cocoa techniques, such as short-circuiting the main run loop and a customized image view.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.8: Compiled code with XCode 2.1 - Fixed but that would cause JPEGDeux to crash on startup (deleting the plist file was the previous solution to this issue). - Fixed "niggly" little issues with the GUI.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.1 or later.

JSTRAIT  Transitions limited to full-frame and even then don't work. Otherwise works great, and it's free...  (Version 1.8)

IRONMAN  Excellent stability. Way better than Phoenix Slides which freezes on my Intel Mac.

But please, Mary mother of God, make a default path to the picture folder so we don't need to select it at each launch. It's annoying.

Other than that, it's the best slideshow freeware I've seen so far (at least for Intel Mac).  (Version 1.8)

STUART LURIE  This is a great and simple program. I just wanted a program that would allow me to view a slide show of images on a CD without me having to load them onto the computer's hard drive. iPhoto doesn't do that, I don't think. This program does! It was exactly what I was looking for.  (Version 1.8)

ANONYMOUS  This is the program I always end up coming back to. Finally upgraded to 1.8 & it works OK, except for the fact that the cross-fade transition doesn't seem to work for me. I'd love to have that going, too.  (Version 1.8)
