AACelerator is the quickest way to easily encode all of your audio files into MPEG-4 Advanced Audio Codec (AAC) audio files. This new encoding format included in QuickTime 6 represents a significant step forward in encoded file size and sonic quality. By all accounts, audio encoded at the same bit rates as MP3 files will result in audio files with superior sonic quality. This encoding format will also produce a file with equivalent sonic quality at much lower bit rates, allowing you to store your music collection
NEGRO Constantly gives errors and stops encoding, which is a little pointless 'cause you can't leave it on the whole day and come back to encoded music. No, you come back and find it's done maybe 6 tracks and stopped.
Also eats up too much CPU. Seriously needs an update (for Panther), at the moment it's too buggy. (Version 1.0.2)
HECTOR MIRANDA ALFONSO I will not download this software. First, because it's shareware. Second, iTunes does the same and more, and it's free (and from Apple).
If it was free, maybe I'll give it a test ride. (Version 1.0.2)
ANONYMOUS very true. while you can easily select everything in your library in iTunes and convert it to AAC, you'll end up with everything in your library both as AAC and MP3 making you have to go through your music folder and delete every other file.
this app at least lets you pick a different destination so you have a clean conversion, which is helpful when you have thousands of songs in your collection. on the other hand, i don't know yet whether i'd pay $15 dollars just for that luxury when it's something i'm only going to do once. (Version 1.0.2)
ANONYMOUS How do you convert mp3's to aac in iTunes without a) copying the soon to be unwanted mp3's to your library then removing them or b) adding them to the library without copying, then having to fish out the unwanted mp3's in the list? Doesn't this software simplify the conversion process so you can simply add aac's to your library later? iTunes has no simple 'convert to aac' function that doesn't mess with your library. (Version 1.0.2)
ANONYMOUS umm.. this is free..on itunes 4... which is free... so i have to say.. this app is a good idea but kinda useless.. plus making u pay??? when its free?
skip this dl and use your itunes 4 folks (Version 1.0.1)
M2 .. Um, not to be a pain, but why would you need this after iTunes 4? Plus, this you pay for, while every Apple computer comes with iTunes. (Version 1.0.1)
