Marine Aquarium is the most stunning virtual aquarium that MacUpdate has ever seen. It can be run as a screensaver or a stand-alone application.
When we first ran this gem on MUPromo, I downloaded it and immediately gave Nate, who runs MUPromo, a call on his iPhone. I was floored by how real the movements of the fish looked, and the array of options to customize your tank. It has marine life so vibrant you won't believe your eyes. These fish are actual 3D models, not flat images dragged across the screen. You could seriously hang your Apple LCD on the wall in your home or office and it would be the closest replacement to the real thing that I've ever seen (and a lot less work).
It's also functional. Some of the tanks include a clock or calendar so you can see the day and date with a quick glance. This is a truly a gem in the bundle.
Version 2.6.1: Fixed sound initialization bug.

XYPHER Some people had trouble with this on Intel, but it works on my MacBook Pro without any trouble. Still the best Screensaver around, but it's time they introduced some new fish, features etc...Agree about the customer service though. I haven't had a reply after 6 months, LOL!

MBHOCKEY Pretty absurd that half the registration keys they give out do not work at first. Horrible service too. Emailed them 4 days ago, nothing.

REY This screen saver is beautiful, but they lose big points for horrible service. On Sunday night I purchased/installed the screen saver, but it won't take the install code they gave me. I tried every troubleshooting trick on their page and in the Read Me doc (which accompanies the download) and a few extras and could not get it to accept this code. I'm an expert user and I know I can rule out user error here. I've cut and pasted the code, entered it manually, checked permissions manually, tried reinstalling and activating it from the root user account... no luck. This was on a clean install of 10.4.7, so I know there's nothing wrong with the system. I even booted to my firewire drive which contains the old system and it didn't work there. I think they just gave me a bad code. To make things worse, I emailed their customer service, which promised a reply within 48 hours. Well, here I am on Tuesday night without a reply. That's not acceptable.

MBHOCKEY Rey, i am having the same EXACT problem. I copy and paste the code, hit enter, nothing. Just sits there. The OK button is greyed out. Pretty annoying. I just emailed them. I hope they get back to me soon. I'm also pretty adept with Macs and tried everything I know. As far as i can tell this is a problem with their program.

MAKARDEL I hate the clock! Why must I see it and can’t turn it off? No one who loves naturally Aquaristik would have a clock among his fish!!!

ABBOTT Excellent piece of software. My earlier comment was wrong. Turns out that the problem I had was trying to upgrade from too old of a CD. For the 2.6 upgrade to work, you need v2.5. 2.6 is colorful and enjoyable to use. The only change I'd make is in allowing different settings for the screensaver and standalone app. Specifically, I wish I could set the clock to show only in the screensaver. Maybe in a future version.

ABBOTT Would be nice if it worked in registration mode...but it doesn't. Tried it on a dual G5, OS 10.4.5, and it doesn't recognize my original CD for registration. I also noticed that the posted version is 2.6.0rc1 (ie, beta), so maybe they'll fix this by the time it goes final.

ORION MK. V Remains the best of the aquarium savers out there. Very realistic and runs flawlessly. Never had problems with the company or registrations... sorry to hear some people have.

COO-COO haha... the screensaver itself is beautiful, very realistic and all, but it just doesnt work. Enter the reg. key, works in system prefs but then, out of there it says you have to enter a keycode and all that, and when you come back to system prefs, you have to re-enter the key. So its basically useless for the people it doesnt work. Shame, shame shame!

ROB Just bought one today but the registration box keeps popping asking for my registration code everytime I open screensaver at System Prefs. It could be good if it does work. It does not want to take my registration code.
