MEMYMACBOOK An excellent FTP client that I have ever used. Though I've used many other FTP upload apps including the paid ones, but the moment I started using it, I loved this app. (Version 3.1.2)

CHASER3275 Cyberduck is perhaps the greatest little freeware app I have ever used. It is simple, powerful, elegant, and effective. It gets the job done for you easily, and it does it well. This application is simply a must-have for anyone who ever uses FTP, and most freeware applications should learn something from Cyberduck's ease-of-use. (Version 3.1.2)

DORKYPANTS 3.1.2 is unable to access my Keychain entries for 3.1.1 and hangs my Tiger 10.4.11 MacBook. Reverted to 3.1.1, which works fine. (Version 3.1.2)

SUPERMACNERD This is easily one of the best FTP browsers on the market not to mention its "FREE". Have not had any issues with the software and appreciate the consistent updates. (Version 3.1.1)

MBBNTU When synchronising, Cyberduck deleted files on my local drive that were newer than the files on the remote, then crashed. It has taken a day to sort things out, and some of the files are still missing. Beware. (Version 3.1.1)

GIAMOULA Anyone else having trouble with this update? It crashes when I try to launch it. If I remove the plists and history from the Application Support folder in the library it will launch, but will not connect or create bookmarks. (Version 3.1)

LARAINE There's no doubt this is an excellent program. I've never had any trouble with it. It therefore seems churlish to complain. But after trying out Yummy I find I miss the two columns--one containing all the files on my hard drive and the other the ones on my server. I seem to remember when I used Fetch (in the days of OS 9 when it too was "freeware") it was much the same and it didn't particularly worry me. I clearly remember taking the files I wanted to upload out of the folder on my hard drive and onto the desktop so I could drag them into Fetch's window. Of course in those days I could ask my Mac to put the files back (remember the old command-Y shortcut?) and with Tiger I can't do that. I guess I shouldn't have tried Yummy! But I wholeheartedly recommend Cyberduck if you are cash-strapped. (Version 3.0.3)

SOOTHE Gotta agree - for a few bucks, Yummy is a totally awesome FTP client. If you don't have a few bucks, Cyberduck works. (Version 3.0.3)

FIZZY Why are you taking the files out of folders? Just have the folder window open next to Cyberduck, and drag back and forth. You can drag directly to a Cyberduck bookmark too. An FTP client doesn't need to duplicate Finder windows or their functions. Cyberduck is good for a nice clean simple FTP/transfer client, with everything you need and little complication. LARAINE I have to temporarily drag the files and folders of my web site out of their folder on my HD onto the desktop or I can't see them to drag them to Cyberduck. In the days of OS 9 all I had to do was select them and press command-Y to send them back where they came. I don't know why Apple couldn't bring this feature into OS X. (Version 3.1.2)

SAMPLER In OS X 10.4.11, after you drag a file from a folder to the desktop (or anywhere else), hitting CTRL-z will undo the action. However with Fetch (and perhaps Cyberduck-I haven't tried it recently), moving files by dragging or otherwise isn't necessary. Select the files, "copy" them with CTRL-c and "paste" (CTRL-v) into the open remote window. This works in the Finder too. I've never liked the transfer apps which have a two window format, not least because of the extra desktop space needed. (Version 3.2)
