DESCRIPTION
MUMenu is a menubar item application that will check periodically for daily Mac OS X software updates at MacUpdate. You'll be able to browse small descriptions of the updated products, go to More Info pages, and download them. Highlighted updates (Hot Picks) are highlighted in red, and applications that are already installed on your Mac will display its appropriate icon. When a new update is posted, MUMenu icon in the menu bar will change color.
Problems? If MUMenu does not perform properly in any way, quit it and trash its preferences file (do a Find for "com.macupdate.mumenu.plist"), then relaunch MUMenu.
Note: Requests for additional features will not be followed through unless many people request the same feature. We don't want to bloat the software. We take the 37signals.com approach to software. Lean and mean.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.1.2:
- Now a Universal binary application, compatible with Intel Macs, and only compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.4 or later, internet connection.

ACCOUNTCLOSED Follow-up to last post. Found it in user/application support/mumenu. Whew. (Version 2.1.2)

ACCOUNTCLOSED This app allows you to create custom icon sets by dragging image files into little wells in the prefs dialogue. Does ANYBODY know how to delete these custom sets? Have looked in the app's package contents, system preferences folder, library/application support—the developer must have wanted to hide the hell out of these things. Anybody? Thanks. LARRYMCJ What a great tool...and where in the hell has it been all my (Mac) life! I have been using a MacUpdate RSS feed, then pouring over 50-100 articles a day searching for any that I have installed, so I can update the. With MUMenu all my work is done for me...I see the application icon standing out on the list of updated apps it provides (on my timetable) and I can launch the app and do an update This process occurs much quicker than if I wait for the app to do its own update as I might not use in daily.

LIFTERX It would be *nice* if you could limit the license types (not just show them all), and also if you could just limit the software to list what you have in your watch list. (Version 2.1.2)

KRYSIA IA. I would rather limit it to the items in my watched list. (Version 2.1.2)

ACCOUNTCLOSED MUMenu is no longer returning the "can't parse" error, but it's also failing to update. Whatever problems MU is having with this, they're taking a long time to fix. Users loyal enough to have installed MUMenu deserve an update posted on the MU home page, IMO. Patience while techies fix a problem is one thing; patience in the dark is something else. MACUPDATE ADMIN Should be fixed now, sincere apologies for the inconvenience. (Version 2.1.2)

TOMDOHERTY Yes, the 'Can't parse' problem appears to be resolved, but another little issue seems to have arisen. My MU Menu failed to update throughout this past weekend. Updating has resumed since yesterday (Monday) but at most irregular intervals. I've mine set to auto update every 30 minutes and over the years there's almost never been a time when there was not something new ...even when I chose 'Update Now' between scheduled intervals. In the past 12 hours it has auto updated only twice and 'Update Now' reveals nothing new ever time I chose it ...very strange indeed. (Version 2.1.2)

MACUPDATE ADMIN As I said, this has been fixed. If your MUMenu is still not working properly, delete its plist file: com.macupdate.mumenu.plist (Version 2.1.2)

TOMDOHERTY Having experienced what life is like without this app I've decided it deserves 5 stars now that it's back in action. Well done to the 'fixer' person(s). (Version 2.1.2)

PINK PANTHER It was only when MuMenu went dead for a couple of days that I have realized how much I am used to this tiny elegant application. This is then easily transformed into 5 stars on the Pink Panther scale. (Version 2.1.2)

MACUPDATE ADMIN Yesterday I called this to the attention of the persons in charge of such matters. I use MUMenu too, and have been _very_ disappointed that it is not working. I am told that it is currently being worked on. A fix should be along any time now. Sorry for the inconvenience. (Version 2.1.2)

SAJDAK70 Yes! I thinked it was problem only on my computer, but I know that is on many comps. What's happened? When the problem will be fixed? I used to use MUMenu for its stable run and low memory usage. I see everything what I need at one sight. (Version 2.1.2)
