ERIC I have owned this program for a number of years. It just keeps getting better and better. Works great on my Leopard Macbook. Beautiful interface with lots of info on your faxes. One tip ... some of the dialing prefs are a little confusting ... Here is what works for me flawlessly. I live in Canada. Say I want to fax a local number. I set Smart Dialing on in the prefs .. and enter my area code. Then when I want to fax a local number i make sure I dial 1-local area code-then my 7 digit local number. Works like a charm!!! Thank you Page sender for this wonderful program .... (Version 4.5)

PROFINITE I have been a registered user from January 2003. One of the things that has always stood out with the company is their superb customer support before, during, and after a purchase or an upgrade. I use Page Sender in my distance education courses in order to receive proctored exams back for grading. The software has been an indispensable tool in this respect. Just a few minutes ago, I upgraded to v4.x. And, once again the customer support has been second to none. When you must use fax software for work and truly appreciate timely response for help requests from the developer, I wholeheartedly recommend Page Sender. (Version 4.1.1)

MACMEDIX Great for sending occasional faxes! Keeps a log, and uses Mac Address book. We send about 10 faxes a day via another Mac running PageSender with Printer Sharing on (and a fax phone line) to make a network fax server. It works, but gets jammed up several times a week. Sometimes requires a delete & remaking of the printer spooler (both ends), or Mac OS restart... Not consistent in that regard. Not great as a fax server. Works great for individual, occasional use, even works great for occasional network use. (Version 4.1.1)

AMCAN12 No go for me. PageSender has a lot of features I would like to use but limited setup options are completely unacceptable. I use eFax Plus for ougoing faxes and I have Gmail address registered with eFax - PageSender allows me to select eFax as fax service for outgoing faxes, but doesn't have Gmail among email clients. If I select Mail as as my email client (which BTW has my Gmail address among many others) PageSender automatically uses the first (alphabetically) email address of mine from Mail to send fax to eFax service. Of course this address is not registered with eFax and I don't want it to be registered there. There is no way to tell PageSender to use the Gmail address and/or to use Gmail as email client. Bummer...

THE FAT CONTROLLER Outstanding support from the programmers! They are fast, friendly and effective in their answers - even though I had not (yet) even paid the shareware fee! I had really big trouble setting the software up for a Hermstedt Webshuttle II ISDN modem. Somehow they figured out from the logfiles I sent them that the "T^" dialing prefix in pagesender was the problem. Removed it and pagesender works like a charm. (Version 3.5.2)

YAZARIM If you simply have to upgrade, the installer wants to send you to esellerate (or paypal, don't remember) for a registration. Why? (Version 3.5.2)

BRUCE Since my hay-day with FaxSTF I’ve used PageSender without looking back. I’ve found the program to use the least amount of effort (from me) than any other utility. I have never had problems with set-up or functionality beyond a day or two, and that time was a few years ago when they started out. Aside from all this I have read the various posts and can say that I’ve never had any similar problems. I have my G4 come on in the morning, start up PageSender, monitor my phone line all day, and when I come home I go into the Prefs and either select manual answer on turn off the program so I can use my home phone. Either way there has never been an instance with the modem or any other issue. Great Job PageSender crew! (Version 3.3.1)

MIKE I dumped stf when it wouldn't work with OSX updates. The Smith people offered no solution. Well this software is better but not bug free. What is so difficult about developing reliable fax software? (Version 3.4)

ANONYMOUS I've been using this app for a year now and, while promising, it definitely has some issues. My main problem with this is that if my fax modem doesn't connect to the send to fax machine, the program will not release the modem unless I restart my machine. I have contacted the developer numerous times, and while he is quick to repsond, has not come up with a solution. He always seems to think the blame lies somewhere else other than his app. Restarting my computer (iBook G4) several times a day is a pain. The email portion of the appdoes work well, though. BOB He may be right - I have found that the OS fax will lock up the modem if the receiving fax answers but doesn't connect properly - and applications slow considerably when modem locks up - reboot solves it but not a great solution. (Version 3.3)

ANONYMOUS Yep.. Moving my father from PB G3/333 w/ Global Village to a new 15" G4 1.5ghz.. He's rd to toss it out the window, because the modem is locking up w/ the MacOS X Print/Fax feature.. Does not seem to be a Page Sender or MacOS Print/Fax issue, but an issue with the new modem hardware/software Apple has moved to??? Anyone know of an app/utility to reset the modem w/o restarting our Macs???? (Version 3.3)

ANONYMOUS I am experiencing the same issues. There are instances where the system won't release the fax port and I have to close PS and turn the modem on/off a few times to release the port. OSX fax seems to be causing the conflicts. (Version 3.4)

ANONYMOUS I called apple about this and they gave me this handy hit: If the modem locks when you use page sender then do the following: reset the RAM of the computer (this sets the HARDWARE devises to default) by doing the following: Then Turn on the computer Press APPLE-OPTION-P-R buttons similtaneously on the keyboard when you turn on the computer. You’ll hear the first chime. Wait for the second chime before you release your finger of the APPLE-OPTION-P-R buttons. Try it now it should work fine (Version 3.5.1)
