DESCRIPTION
PressPerCent is an ink key pre-setting solution for offset presses. PressPerCent processes each page of job in either TIFF, PPF, PostScript, or PDF input format and calculates appropriate settings for fountain ink keys. PressPerCent could be configured for any plate size and ink key zones.

PressPerCent output could be viewed as graphics on computer screen, printed or saved as CIP3 (CIP4) print production format file. CIP3 PPF files could be used with new press control systems from major press manufacturers: Heidelberg, KBA, Komori, MAN Roland and others.

ANONYMOUS  A commercial printing press has "zones" or columns of ink controllability running vertically along the length of its ink fountain system. These zones must be individually told how much ink to put on the paper. Modern press control centers allow digital input from the prepress (CIP3) to pre-set these zones or "keys" based on the particular job. (picture of the control center/keys http://www.heidelberg.com/wwwbinaries/bin/images/dotcom/all/prinect/cp2000/kf_color_fast_42281_08_V02_170px.jpg ). PressPerCent generates this CIP3 data. How well? You get what you pay for.

GRIGORI (PRESSPERCENT DEVELOPER)  1. CIP3 PPF standard data has nothing to do with particular press model and ink key zones -- just a lo-res preview with sheet size and orientation specified.

    2. If we talk about special PPFs for CP2000 (with proper option opened by Heidelberg technicians) PressPerCent can do these too.

3.There are also plug-ins (included with PressPerCent 2.5.1) to write the HEIDELBERG Job Card format directly, if you got a PCMCIA reader/writer at hand...

    4. Another point worth mentioning: you can always contact us (info@excourse.com) and try PressPerCent before spending any funds....

ANONYMOUS  Of course CIP3 is not press manufacturer specific. It's an industry wide format and includes specs for cutting data and bindery operations. The URL to the Heidelberg image was just an EXAMPLE of what a press console LOOKS LIKE. It happened to be Heidelberg's CP2000 (one of the first google images). Try to stay on track here.

STARTYGER  I haven't yet sent anything to a printer with this, Last version changed the colors of my original work before tweeking... I'm checking out the features on this. This seems more important to me for apps like Create©, Cenon, MLayout etc. in preparation for meeting the Printer. Anyone else test this with Cocoa apps? Looks great, though. Hope to make better use of it with this release.

Sorry, but: what do you mean?

Color on-screen preview in PressPerCent is not very accurate (there is a note somewhere about it and we will fix it soon). Separtions preview is more adequate in this respect.

Frankly PressPerCent is mostly "for Printers" than for those who prepares to meet these guys...

If you got any problems or questions I will be happy to discuss them by e-mail (info@excourse.com)...

    Kind Regards.
