ANONYMOUS I did a major 'Whoops" by disconnecting my iPod from my G4 Powerbook (running latest version of OSX) without first completely shutting down the PB, or dismounting the iPod. So the Firewire alert notice was blasted on my screen, which is probably why my PB was hung when I went to power back on. The first level Directory on my iPod showed nada = over 850 files gone out of my playlist. Tried Norton's on my iPod from OS 9, and it saw all my files. However, no way to recover, copy, reinstall the firmware on the iPod, iTunes crashes every time I connected the iPod. Still came up on my screen as a real drive, but basically useless. So I tried PodUtil 1.0b4. Not only did it allow me to see all my files on my iPod and copy them to my hard drive on my G4, but it was a great utility for organising and preparing for iTuens to copy back in. Excellent program and a "must have" utility for iPod users who live and die on the thing. also the editor on the Contact list looks really interesting. (Version 1.0b4) |
