  • Control over compression setting
  • Conversion of returns in comments to spaces

JOHN  Note that if you have iPhoto 4, this version will NOT work with it. You'll have to go to the site and download the older version.

JASON S  Exactly what I needed - and haven't had any problems.

Ok it takes a couple of hours to sort out the template - but if you've got a bit of programming knowledge it isn't that hard.

And the developer - Simeon - replies to emails usually within 24hrs.

It's exactly what I wanted - get the template code I need then put it in my homepage template. voila :)

ROBERTS2424  Here we are at another version. It's still got the same bug that it had before. The pictures aren't always kept in the desired export sequence. The BetterHTML forums have postings over this and for whatever reason the programmer won't/isn't addressing this issue and it continues to be frustrating. The program is terrific...when it exports properly. Mr. Programmer, are you listening?

ANONYMOUS  I seem to get this once in a while. I can fix it, bu going into iPhoto, copying the desired photos to a new album, then rearranging them. It's not difficult, but it's also not one-step unfortunately.

TIMPLASTER  I agree with Joe. Those are two things that I would love to see in BetterHTML. I have tried to create my own templates, and have given up after a few hours of attempting to learn the language. It's not that easy to understand. Other than that, it's a great app, and $20 is NOTHING to save you so much time in creating web albums. Thanks guys.

ANONYMOUS  I agree. It's too much trouble to learn the language, but at the same time none of the existing templates are the right solution either, so it's almost a neccessity to try to figure it out or be stuck the so-so templates.

JOEBLO  Great product, since Apple's included HTML export is both ugly and buggy. Anyone else get thumbnails the size of the full photo??? Well.....BetterHTMLExport fixed both of the problems.

It takes a few minutes to get a clue as to what the various parts of the app are for, but when it's set up, it's easy to use. It REALLY does make it quick and easy to put together web photo albums ranging from 5-200 photos. This is what I had been searching for over the past 6 years, and BetterHTMLExport does it better than anything else I have tried.

What I would like to see:

    1. Better previews of the various templates.

The previews on the BHTMLE website are just too be useful. I had to make my own listing of about 12 different templates so that I have a clue which one I am choosing a why (hopefully I will post this somewhere online soon!

    2. Much easier way to create templates.

While every template is an improvement over the built-in Apple template, each one has it's quirks or failing, or does't fit a certain situation. (Kudos to those who have made templates - thanks!) There needs to be easier way to adjust templates or create them from scratch. It would definitely make the app worth the full $20. (Maybe $15 for the export app, and $$5 for template creation app?)

ANONYMOUS  I agree, the previews on the website are just too small.

I did the same - I made samples of all of the templates that I downloaded. I even made comments about each templates.

Soon I will setup the templates and have them linked from the publishers site or at least from the forums.

ROBERTS2424  Terrific product. But, recently the program has begun missing photos, organizing them out of order, and dropping links. The lastest version 2.0.14 has not fixed these. Also, looking at the parent company's forums which are supposed to support this product they are AWOL. If the company won't spend the time to respond to postings this wonderful product is in trouble.

JOE THURSTON  I use the app quite a bit, it's a great way to export from iPhoto to .html files. It is a bit difficult to figure out exactly how to get the templates working properly, but once you get the settings you like, you're off to the races. I would like to try creating my own templates, but haven't taken the time. All in all, a good app!

ANONYMOUS  Not nearly as easy as the description would make you think. Decent app but doesn't come with ANY documentation or manuals. Refers you to their website which has so-so support. Plan on taking a few hours to figure it all out. The template feature is cool but you have to download a different app to make them work right.

My BIGGEST complaint is that it limits the number of exports you can do before you pay for it. You use most of the freebies up just trying to figure the thing out and don't have any left once you do know what you are doing.

$20 is a bit high for this app. $10 would be more in line.
