XENOPHILE  WTF is Microsoft's problem with naming this driver? Their website says "IntelliPoint 7.01". The downloaded disk image is labeled as "Microsoft-Mouse-d260". Mount the disk image and within it is contained a file called "Microsoft Mouse Installer". The Finder's Get Info shows version 1.0.

I only installed the MS driver to see how it compared to my old workhorse, USB Overdrive. It worked well enough but I'll definitely be sticking with USB Overdrive.

FRANCIS  This version recognizes the Laser Mouse 6000, but there are 5 buttons on the mouse and the software only sees 4. I went back to an older 32 bit version, but it is a real pain to uninstall the new version once it is installed.

MARC OPAS  This broke the functionality of my Microsoft Optical Trackball on my Dual 2.0 G5 running 10.4.11. Can anyone help me find the last version of the software, or help me restore functionality? I can't stand not having buttons 4 & 5 for back and forward!

STAR-AFFINITY  Aha, check the website, and it reads:

”IntelliType Pro and IntelliPoint for the Mac version 7.0 is compatible with the 32-bit version of Mac OS® X 10.6 (Snow Leopard™). While in 64-bit mode, only basic device functionality will be available. Microsoft Hardware is developing a 64-bit compatible version. This version will be availalbe on or before 10/2/2009.”

So, one the 64 bit version is done their won't be any limitations (I guess).

STEVEN GOODHEART  Hey Star-Affinity....my post information is exactly the same as yours (I simply copied and pasted from the MS website), but in your post, the sentences are slightly rearranged, so I don't understand why what you posted gives more information or light on the subject.....just curious.

MACINEN  What are you (or some of you) complaining about? Just because it's from Microsoft? Didn't you know there is mac-people in MS who are committed to doing mac-things.

Anyway, this driver works very well with my new Arc Mouse (white), amazingly solid driver. One of the good things is that there is this option "handled by mac os" in every choice of buttons (one advantage compared to f.ex. SteerMouse). Keep up the good work!
