LOUIS To my ears, bass is much better defined and treble has less hash than iTunes-ripped MP3s. Midrange is warm and fat, too fat for my taste on some instruments. Piano chords sound almost like organ. Thus, I would say, this is a great MP3 ripper for some but not all material. AAC (iTunes 4) files sound better than any MP3 at relatively low bit rates. But if you want to stick with generic MP3, this little program, at the irresistable price of free, is well worth tinkering with.
