DESCRIPTION
FileXaminer is the premier "Get Info" utility for Mac OS X. Get Info is a file/folder attribute editing application that is easier to use and more powerful than competing products. Since the first release, the developer has taken the time to simplify and refine the Get Info User Interface. They looked at what you would need to use Get Info for and came up with things like batch mode, Privilege Presets, Type/Creator favorites, dock menu support, and our extensive Finder Hot Key support. All these features allow you to get your work done faster.

TANKKNIGHT  MacUpdate put this on my download tho I don't have any history with it. So I downloaded the Leopard version to give it a try ... doesn't work as it will not even launch. I checked the report and have "Reason: no suitable image found.". Dang, I didn't think I was that bad looking.  (Version 2.6.3)

IOGURU  Why can't the finder do this already? Awesome piece of software. This should help some of our automation scripts do more than before.  (Version 2.6.2)

GANNET  A similar problem to what HERB mentioned below, I can't set codes using characters requiring the option key (non-ASCII).

Does the developer read these comments or should I go somewhere to see if this will get fixed?  (Version 2.5.7)

    ****.

HERB.  The problem I reported some time ago got fixed in version 2.5.1 (but not yet in 2.5). What had happened was that FeX did not recognize file names or file paths that contained characters requiring the Option key on the keyboard.

Also, the paranoid activation scheme introduced with version 2.4 got sanitized somewhat. It is now possible to install and activate FeX on a Mac not having a direct internet connection, provided you have another Mac that has such a connection and that was used to purchase and register the program originally. I can live with that.  (Version 2.5.1)
