DESCRIPTION

Mac Notepad helps you organize any piece of text you may want to be at hand.

Mac OS X is great but it lacks a note pad program in which you can freely paste and copy any piece of text you may want to be everyday at hand. Now that software is available for download for every Mac user.

Mac Notepad is designed from the ground up to support the latest Apple technologies and provides everything you need to be more productive in your work with your Mac.

Mac Notepad lets you save and organize any piece of text you may want to be at hand: you can paste it in, drag it from other applications, drop it as a text file from the Finder or, of course, write it yourself.

A title and a category can be assigned to each note; notes can be easily retrieved by category via a popup menu, or by content simply typing the text to be found in a search field.

A handy recents menu will furthermore keep track of the last edited notes.

Notes can be edited at will: different fonts, styles and colors are all available for text inside a note and, if you need it on paper, you can print it too.

Mac notepad sports the brand new Iconize feature, just a click and your note pad becomes a handy and small window that stays on top of all the other windows so you can find it easily and get again it with a click.

The Password check button lets you protect your personal notes with a password. If this option is selected, at the opening of Mac Notepad a password dialog box will be displayed. To gain access to the notes it will be necessary to enter the correct password.

Version '08: This release includes interface improvements back/forward buttons for navigating notes previously visited, a History window for notes visited, live search, optimizations for Leopard, and other changes.

BITEBIT  It is a really nice app and it is really useful to store everything and organize your brain all in one app: just open it and write whatever. I used to use entourage and woodoo but notepad is smaller and smart. For example i have been using that for 4-5 days and i have as categories:

- Category Personal stuffs and then notes like:

"Sentences", "tales", To-do, shopping...

- Category "Customers" and then notes for webs that my customers have, like: one.com, anotherone.com, etc

- Category "mywebs" and then one.com, two.com and inside everynote to-do, fonts that i use, etc.

- Category "learning" and then "css", php, etc if i discover one new css trick for example i store it in CSS.

- Category "to-do" and then "personal", profesional", etc

You can choice to protect the note with a password, search, export and import notes, change font and color on a really easy and smart way and a long etc, so I like the app in general, the idea is nice and in my oppinion Notepad is the most similar notepad to the notepad i really would like and i am looking for... but it have some problems that one program of 20$ should to avoid...

- Some bugs: if you copy&paste text from encourage, word, etc, then notepad will crash, and besides it crash with some more stuffs: the program just is suddently close (it is not really often and the program try to restore the database for itself, but i have lost some text i was writting or pasting coople of time in 4 days and it is not good for one 20$ soft...)

- You canīt use Color tags

- You canīt store pictures. I know that notepad is for text.. but it would be great.

To take a long story short: notepad is nice and quite similar to the app iīm looking for to organice all the text, ideas, etc. I was going to buy it but it cost 20$ and in my oppinion it donīt have yet some stuffs to cost 20$, i would pay 10, 12.. Maybe 15, but 20 is too much because the program is good but it is still like a non-finished version.

Anyway money is always one opinion, the program is not bad... Just check it!

PALADINO  While it's an ok notepad, it lacks the uniqueness or sophistication to justify its $20 price tag....but then, I question whether any notepad is worth $20.

I MIGHT go for it if it were no more than $10, but at $20....out of the question.

There are developers who put a lot more work into creating apps, and apps that are unique, too, yet charge half of what Mac Notepad goes for.

Anyway, I'll definitely pass on this one.  (Version 4.4)
