SANS DIEU RIEN This program is more intuitive than many others that are far more expensive. The user interface is elegant and clean. The preferences allow for greater visibility of the pieces, with various board features: French, American, Russian; standard, shadow, outline; marble, wood, diagram, etc. The print out is where Vektor shines; it includes custom inserts of diagrams within the PGN format. Although ELO is somewhat controversial, it would be nice to have a feature that gauges the program's and player's ELO, otherwise, the player is at the mercy of adjusting Depth, Time, Blitz, Adaptive, and Tournament. If you want to pay more for a chess program, there are plenty vying for your money (currently, Dennis Monokroussos, one of my favorite contemporary players, leans toward Shredder). However, if you just want to play and print chess games for analysis, you can't beat Vektor.
