ANONYMOUS With a fresh Tiger installation, complete with Xcode and the CHUD tools, travelling appeared "no worky" on my Powerbook 17" (1GHz/1GB). Travelled - needed disk utility an d Disk Warrior to get it back to life. Decided to run Drive 10 to get it fixed and be able to further troubleshoot. Scanning the drive took from 8 last night until... well, I went to bed at 1 a.m. and it was far from finished. So I don't really know. My 60GB disk is in the repairing stage since this morning early. We're now some 13 hours underway. Now Task 5 of 6, step 3.343.345 of 4,749,657. IF I'm lucky, I might expect it to finish with this task somewhere after 18+ hours from start repair. Seriously.. then it's 30 hours+ underway. - that everything is recovered properly - all possible bad blocks are flagged - all remaining blocks are tested good If Drive 10 can do all that. If not, going for my backup and doing an Archive & Install is the way out. Saves me at least in excess of 28 hours compared with Drive 10. And it gets more tempting by the hour. (Version 1.1.5) |
