Transmit is an excellent FTP (file transfer protocol), SFTP, S3 (Amazon.com file hosting) and iDisk/WebDAV client that allows you to upload, download, and delete files over the internet. With the most Mac-like interface available, Transmit makes FTP as simple, fun, and easy as it can possibly be.
IMAGE_CTRL Transmit is a reliable workhorse. I have been using it for years and have not once had an issue with the software. Other FTP clients i have used seemed bulky and non intuitive, so i was very happy when i learned about Transmit. Highly recommended. (Version 3.6.6)
What more can a FTP client do? You make it as EASY as possible, while still having all the features an FTP client should. That is what transmit it.
If something isn't broke, why should the coder waste his time on it when he could be making it a better application (Which would be hard to do at this point)
There is no reason, and I mean NO REASON to change a program's GUI just to be changing it.
You'll piss off a lot of people that BOUGHT it for it's ease of use GUI.
I suggest everyone read the Apple Human Interface Guidelines and you'll understand why Transmit is already a work of art. (Version 3.6.6)
KEITHWS Fastest SFTP client I've used and well worth the cost. Excellent performance and rock solid. Unfortunately, the interface is becoming a bit dated, so I only gave it four stars, but it's still the best FTP application in my opinion. (Version 3.6.6)
MR.ASH Transmit gives you a very nice GUI and iss very easy in use. However data transfer is very slow and unstable. I've tried to copy 250 GB of date to my NAS and i got only a max. 5 MB/s transfer speed. On top of that Transmit always got files witch could not be transferred and terminated the connection completly giving you no feedback what has been already copied and what not. Not worth it's money at all.
I've tried the same thing using FileZila and it works like a charm. Of course there is still data witch can't be transferred but FileZila doesn't quit the connection and continues copying the other files moving the not copied files to a seperate window. GUI is not very nice but compared to Transmit it works. (Version 3.6.6)
ASHMADUX Holy heck, i was just thinking the same thing. I love transmit- it just works and it works well. but I'll be damned if i didnt say that it looks pretty old hat..many of us content creators liek a nice looking AND functional piece of software, so how about it panic, how about a nice leopard-over for everyone's fave
?
PLEASE update the interface, pretty please? (Version 3.6.6)
DARYLF2 Transmit is utterly reliable. I have a fairly extensive automated (using shell scripts, AppleScript, and Automator) backups that upload archives to .Mac, an SFTP account, and an Amazon S3 account, and Transmit always works flawlessly. (Version 3.6.5)
