ANONYMOUS  Ouch. Well, my machine is normally pretty stable but it crashed 3 times in the short time I played around with Minerva. It doesn't seem permanently damaged though.

ANONYMOUS  Are you on OS9 or something? Simple applications can't cause a systemwide crash on Mac OS X, the system is designed expressly to prevent it.

ANONYMOUS  If the window server is crashed or deadlocked, there's still not much you can do other than restart or ssh in remotely and kill it.

ARANOR8  This is not Minerva's fault. There is *no way* this application could have screwed up your computer like that. First off, due to protected memory, the only way it could crash your entire computer would be to cause a kernel panic, something which this application is not capable of doing on a working system (which would imply your system was damaged before you ran it). Secondly, even if it could crash your system, it couldn't do any permanent damage. What I'm trying to say here is that your system was already damaged badly, and it just so happened that it finally crashed when you ran this application. So don't blame Minerva for your faulty system.

JARVIS BADGLEY  I can not think of any way that Minerva could have caused the kind of damage you speak of. It doesn't touch any system files in operation. And uninstaller? What are you talking about? This is Mac OS X, you don't use uninstallers for removing software, you just throw it in the trash.

There were some problems several months ago with the Identd installer package breaking the /etc symlink, but we fixed that immediately and posted information on how to correct the problem if you were effected by it.

ARNOUD HELMANTEL  Great irc client. After playing with it for some time I had no problems to fork over the registration fee to keep using it.

Some notes: I would like to be able to log in without _having_ to keep the console open, I would love to be able to turn on/off the userlist and the statusbar could be optional as well...

    Great client though!

COMPUTERGUY  This was a good client, his forced registeration policy now though is something which will drive away many users who agree that IRC Clients are not important enough to pay a registration fee on.

A shame, it was previously a nice program!

NEEFOO  It has been quite a long time since the last update. Since the other IRC clients are a bit messy to use, I really hope a new version of Athena is on it's way. If not, well - I'll stick to this, 2.1 version.

SIMON  This is a good program, the window is nice and tidy and overall its easy to use... I'd like to see more scripting and stuff though, that would be good. At the moment I can't decide between this and Ircle, both have their advantages (I don't really like the interface on Snak)

NEEFOO  This is probably the greatest and most easy-to-use irc client out there for OS X. It's really easy to setup and to use. I have tried Snak for a while, but it moves me 5 years back in time. AthenaIRC is the one and only IRC client you will need. It's also easy to use with several users, for ex. if your boyfriend or girlfriend want to have its own connection. Snak has also this feature but in a more confusing way.

Keep up the gr8t work on this application! =)) And IT'S FREE!!!
