MACR  Have used this application for awhile now... it works flawlessly. Finally, software that does what you expect without taking a big hit to the wallet. Needed some support when I installed Leopard and within minutes I heard back. Great stuff !!!

SKYNITE  I run both NetMonitor and MenuMeters, but I use NetMonitor for my network graphing, largely because of its appearance, but also because of its extensive configurability.

NetMonitor is simply beautiful in my menu bar. I have a wide bar graph display with fade out and transparency, and it looks like it was designed to be part of Mac OS X, while being very functional.

I also use MenuMeters for some of its other functions, but its network graphing can't come close to NetMonitor's. I recommend NetMonitor highly.

JPBADGER  Version 4 is a free upgrade for those with version 3 licenses. New version also picked up statistics where 3.9.5 left off.

KUPHD  Not really true. It's only free if you bought it after January 1st, 2005. If you bought it before that, you have to pay 50% for the upgrade.

PETERT  Relating to the previous comment - Menu Meters does NOT do it all.

That said, menu meters is good, it is always active in my Menubar. But, when I want to seriously monitor the throughput of one or more ports I always run instance/s of Menu Monitor.

It is very customisable and multiple instance/s can be run of all my active ports.

It wasn't only $10 when I purchased my licence, but I still think what I paid was worth every cent. At $10 it is a no brainer for anyone wanting to SERIOUSLY monitor connnection/s.

RCA411  I agree. And not only that, the license agreement expressly states in capitals letters that the program may contain defects, and the accuracy is not guaranteed. This wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to pay for a non-transferrable license after 30 days.

ANONYMOUS  Despite owning a couple of Net Monitor licenses, I recently switched to the Open Source MenuMeters. It may not have as many bells and whistles as Net Monitor, but it's Open Source and more stable.

ANONYMOUS  $9.95 - that's what I would be willing to pay.

Not a penny more.

XELA  > It works but a freeware (Menumeters)

> works better so this one is pointless

NetMonitor has a server/client feature which works excellent. I use this to monitor my modem connection on my wireless network from any mac connected to it.

Although Menumeter is an excellent piece of software it can't do that. So I wouldn't consider NetMonitor pointless. At least it isn't for me.

MIKE K  I have been a registered user for a while. Net Monitor is a great product and has helped me recently with some trouble I've been having connecting to Earthlink. When I use 10.3.3's internet connect, I continually get modem error messages and other problems. I decided to use Net Monitor to control my PPP connection and now I dial in without any problems. And I like to monitor my home network. I highly recommend Net Monitor for its ease of use, stability and useful features.
