DESCRIPTION
Note: This demo is only version 2.4 (not 2.4.1). Users of 2.4 can download the updater from 2.4 to 2.4.1 for free.

Resorcerer is the premiere general-purpose commercial resource editor for Macintosh computers running System 8, 9, or Mac OS X. Relied upon by thousands of Mac developers all over the world, Resorcerer features a wealth of powerful yet easy-to-use tools for easier, faster, and safer editing of Macintosh data files and resources.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.4.1 adds the following:
  • New Color Cursor ('crsr') Editor, for both Classic and Carbon versions.
  • In addition to Hex, Binary, ASCII, and Unicode, the Hex Editor now supports a new column view of the data, displayed as Macintosh two-byte text.
  • The Hex Editor now maintains its view settings (which columns you like, which type style you want) persistently.
  • The PowerPC Disassembler now disassembles all Velocity Engine (Altivec) instructions to English as you point at them. (The Hex Editor includes an Instruction column when opening resources of type 'pwpc'.) Here is a sample of the output.
  • Pasting text (such as C or Rez source code) into the Hex Editor is now much easier. Extraneous non-hex characters are now optionally ignored instead of keeping the entire paste from occuring.
  • Bug fixed: Unfortunately, the process of porting Resorcerer to Carbon introduced a bunch of bugs. Since then, over two dozen bugs have been fixed, a couple of them over a decade old. Most commonly reported bugs include the hex editor display preferences bug, the delay when switching back into Resorcerer bug, the Menu title not saving bug, etc., etc.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS 9.1 or later, CarbonLib.

AN_USER  The app doesn't seem bad, but is really expensive, 256 U.S. dollars by a little app !!!, better to buy ResFool by 20 bucks, fair price for a Resource Editor. (1/26/2006, Version: 2.4.1)

ANONYMOUS  I have not tried this program, but the price does seem steep. I tried ResFool, which cost only $20 and worked just fine. It also had absolutely marvelous support from the developer. I wrote him with some questions about some technical matters I didn't know how to handle. He replied promptly and even went out of his way to find me some additional resources I needed. I couldn't ask for much more than that.

VIRAG  I am using resorcerer version 2.4 on OS X.I have designed a log-on dialog using resorcerer and there are the usual "Username" and "password" edit fields. But I did not find any option of making the password edit field behave as a password field i.e. it should display some wild character such as "*" or ".'.Currently it displaying the entered password as it is.Please tell me how can I achieve the object.I had used interface builder and it had solved my problem but there's a compatibility issue with the application I am using the dialog in.So kindly let me knowe the solution.

ANONYMOUS  It's a bit expensive, it should be cheaper, I will use ResEdit for now. People who say use this app becuase ResEdit can't edit the data fork, get the "forker" extension, and Super ResEdit.

GOSTCODER  For General Resource editing ResEdit is still king. Resorcerer 2.4 has a horrid UI, like all past versions and the MacOS X version is a poor port.

That they charge $128 for this thing is just appalling.
