DESCRIPTION
IntelliMerge is dynamic e-mail merge software designed to simplify keeping in touch with customers, family, and friends. Featuring an integrated message editor, recipient database system, and message mailer, it's all you need to manage contacts, create personalized e-mail messages, and send them out over the Internet.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 5.1:
- Web Page Messages: No more fumbling with the Custom HTML editor and absolute images when you've designed your HTML-based e-mail message in a WYSIWYG editor like Macromedia DreamWeaver or Adobe GoLive. The new Web Page message types enables you to post your e-mail template to a folder on your web page, give IntelliMerge the URL, and press send. Everyone will receive that page as it appears in a browser -- right in their e-mail. Even images and links "just work" as expected.
- Complete Documentation: Back by popular demand, IntelliMerge now includes comprehensive PDF documentation with detailed usage instructions, tips, and common troubleshooting techniques.
- AutoSubscriber: Let your subscribers and members add or unsubscribe themselves from your subscriber lists, without having to have IntelliMerge open. Simply upload the IntelliMerge AutoSubscriber PHP script to any web server for instant integration with existing web sites. The script also gives users the flexibility of adding a one-click "unsubscribe" link to the bottom of your messages.
- Smart Send Later: Added by popular demand: set your mailing to start at the exact date and time you specify. Just set it and forget it, and IntelliMerge will take care of the delivery for you, automatically.
- Activity Log: Get detailed information on how and when you sent your campaigns with IntelliMerge's permanent activity log. IntelliMerge can even alert you to recipient problems with specific error information.
- SmartBar Integrated Tip System: Every message editor includes an intelligent tip bar that provides tips on making sure your message contains everything it needs to send.
- Message Preflight: Catch mistakes before you start sending. Preflight helps you make sure everything's correct before your message is sent. You're presented with all of the details, an up-to-date recipient count, and quick access to a dynamic message preview in one window.
- Smart Bounce Management: Bounced messages don't have to get in your way. Specify the Return-Path in the Options dialog, and all bounces and errors will go to a separate e-mail address.
- Image Insertion: You can now insert images in Styled Text messages -- no HTML coding required.

We've recently released IntelliMerge 5, and in doing so addressed the criticisms most of you have had in reading your comments -- that we don't have release notes, nor do we have solid documentation. ISILVER Well the online tech support for this product has not improved one iota in my recent experience. Last time I had a problem with this not working I emailed support and received a cursory "check your settings" email, and then no response to a follow email asking for more help. I highly recommend the free open-source web program "PHPList" over this, it has more features and leaves this product in its wake.

JOOLS912 I have absolutely no idea what's new in this v4.7. Once downloaded all you get is the new application. No Read Me, no Release Notes, no Documentation. It's a great app, but why is it so hard for the developer to provide ANY info with it? Even the web-site says nothing and refers to the previous version on the product home page!

SPLORP I would certainly recommend IntelliMerge because it does a great job of sending mass email, with the specific ability to delivery properly formatted multi-part MIME messages. However, I agree with many of the previous comments regarding the lack of documentation. Likewise, there are never any release notes from version to version. What does this revision fix? Who knows...

ANONYMOUS This is a wonderful program. It surprised me to see so many unfavorable reviews. There are a couple of minor issues I have with the sorting feature, like I would like separate fields for first name and last name, so that I could sort by last name only, but other than that this program works great for my needs. For Mac users, this is the best out there. And I felt it was very intuitive to a new user. I don't recall even needing to look at the documentation, when I first used it.

LARRY JENKS I agree with Kathy. Lack of documentation is a HUGE problem. I've been getting Protocol Errors and Connections left and right, but what can I do to fix them? Can't find out. No reply from IntelliMerge support for a week now, and counting.

KATHY Wow. RUN AWAY. Do not purchase this product. Very bad (no) documentation, slow (email only) tech support, and even when they do reply, answers are vague and confusing. I had some problems with the demo but purchased it, thinking that I could work it out when I had the full version. When I realized how mistaken I was, they refused to refund my money. Max Bulk Mailer is cheaper, better documented, feature-rich and comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. I wouldn't buy Intellimerge until someone decides to finish developing it.

LORIS can only support what Silver said. No documentation and also not (quick) support, since I asked for some additional infos on header and conditional tags but received no reply after one week.

SILVER This is a great program that can't be faulted for stability and reliability, however, the lack of documentation is a real problem ... Here is a transcript of an email session i had with the developer recently on this issue: Me: how are people supposed to work out how to use this program? Them: I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. Me: The only documentation i can find is over 2 years old and appears to be for version 2? Them: Yes, that's correct. The currently available document is available here: Me: when is new documenttion being prepared for the new features added? Them: I'm sorry, but I can't discuss unreleased product information, timelines, or future release plans per company policy. ... so if this doesn't bother you grab a copy.
