ZO219 Just about chokes every time I want to sync apps to my IPhone 3GS. Slows down, nearly spins out--and I haven't a big library! Creeps along--and I wish I could stop that backup first. It's like iTunes wasn't meant as more than a music player--and it's staggering how much better MPlayerExtended makes the same tune sound. If a tune can sound that good in MPlayer, why the hell doesn't Apple fix iTunes? And give us another app for syncing ... ? (Version 9.0.3)

MTCOBRA Is it just me, or are there any others who cannot get iTunes 9.0.3? I bring up iTunes, and it tells me there is a new version (9.0.3) and would I like to download it? I click on *download* and Software Update runs, telling me there are updates for my computer. It runs, then announces that everything is up-to-date. I go here and download 9.0.3. But every time I click on *About iTunes* it reports I’m using Version 9 (but the scroll bit still says 9.0.2). Any ideas of what’s preventing me to get 9.0.3, or is 9.0.3 just mis-labeled as 9.0.2? RUBAIYAT Guess we are supposed to like iTunes because Apple wrote it and Apple can do no wrong. Then why is it so clumsy and awkward to use? …and a resource hog. There is not one day, after years of using it, that I don't get lost in its "interface", can't find my songs, lose songs and podcasts, have it chew up my download before disappearing somewhere in "there". To me it personifies everything that is wrong with Apple's design, post the NEXT takeover. arcane, superficial, a muddle that gets stirred over every few iterations but never gets fixed. Still has no way of making names conform, no albums that you can fold up to shorten lists, no smart way of dealing with bulk changes, restrictive file formats and oblique methods for most everything. Software shouldn't have me work this hard. I rarely agree with PC users but I can see why they detest iTunes in droves. (Version 9.0.3)

LIBERTYFORALL1776 Nice Shiny 32-bit code on my 64-bit OS :-( Come on Apple, update the code for speed, iTunes is a bit of a slouch... Blu-Ray support is WAY overdue as well. Give the consumers a choice already. (Version 9.0.3)

PENNYHEAD1 It would be nice for the movie artwork to be cached so there wouldn't be such a long delay after hitting the Movies tab when the iPhone or iPod Touch is synced. (Version 9.0.2)

AKANICO Never understood why the rating column has a fixed width and why apple never did anything to change this after all these new versions. This column is twice larger than it should. Now, I'm using the french language, maybe this problem is not appearing with english, I don't know. If anybody knows how to fix this, I'd be glad to hear it.

153957PHOTOGRAPHY Try this: Right click on the title of the columns, so where it says 'Ratings', then choose 'Auto Size All Columns', see if that helps.. (Version 9.0.3)

AKANICO thanks for the tip but already tried this one, didn't work... guessing it's a bug from itunes and not too important since they don't fix it versions after versions. (Version 9.0.3)

CASTLE ROSE Why display the rating at all? I to had that column visible at the expense of other things. Then out of frustration I closed thinking i'd need to open it again shortly. Well, I've never need to open it again. Once a rating is set why look at the rating again day after day? On the rare occasion i want to verify a rating I just command (⌘) "I" it. (Version 9.0.3)

AKANICO well thanks a lot for your thoughts on using the column or not but that's not the point here. because if I didn't need to use it why would i ask how to resize it ? when my car has a problem, i don't want to be told to use a bike or take the subway, i just need my car... so yes, i need to use it for several reasons and would love to have it at the right size but so far it's stuck too wide. DGOMBAU Warning. Tried to download a TV episode tonight, to watch tonight. Not an unreasonable expectation, since my verified download cable connection is 12mps. But whoa - the HD version quoted a FOUR HOUR download. Even the SD version at 530 MB was a one-hour D/L. At 12mbs it SHOULD take 6 minutes, not 60. I tried stopping and reconnecting over a 40 minute period, just in case there was heavy demand. But no, it stayed the same. Seems that iTunes servers are running at dial-up speed. Not unreasonably I emailed iTunes Support and asked for my $2.99 to be refunded, since even the SD version will be way to late to watch. Will let you know the Apple response. But I am not holding my breath. (Version 9.0.2)

SKYNET I’m not sure if I am the only one who has spotted these problem with the iTunes “wish list” I have also emailed Apple about the problem and they said they are working to solve the problem, but are not sure when the problem will be solved. So here is the issue…the “wish list” only displays 25 songs. If you go over 25 songs it goes onto a second page. Well on the second page you cannot delete any songs from that page (using the “X” on the side) also if you delete one song from the first page you have to reload your wish list in order to delete another song. I also noticed that if you have an Album in your wish and press the quick view option in the right bottom corner of the album cover art it will only bring up a blank screen and not display the songs listed on the album for you to review. I was hoping this new iTunes update would correct these issues I have been having but it has not. This is the first time I have been disappointed by Apple and brings back memories of the problems with PCs. Has anyone else encountered these problems listed above or others? (Version 9.0.2)

DR. GIRLFRIEND Dark grid view is a welcome (and overdue) improvement. It seems as if the light grid view has also been tweaked a bit -- the font seems bold(er) and the background's blinding whiteness has been reduced. I'd still like to see more GUI customization options, in the List View, for example; I'd prefer a darker (or non-white) interface throughout. Come on, Apple! Can't you trust us to choose our own colors? I don't think that's too much to ask. No problems so far on OSX 10.6.1 (Version 9.0.2)

MTCOBRA And how/where is this dark background? I must be blind, for I cannot find any option for a dark 'grid view' switch. (Version 9.0.2)

SEANC It's under Preferences (General). (Version 9.0.2)

DR. GIRLFRIEND The Dark Grid view option is hiding in plain site. It under: Preferences-->General-->Grid View-->Light (or Dark). (Version 9.0.2)

DR. GIRLFRIEND That should read "it's hiding in plain sight". I miss the edit function on this site. (Version 9.0.2)

MTCOBRA I have sighted the site, and having seen it, can now create dark and light, lovely, the choice of sights for grids. But actually, was not that impressed. Thanks to all of the two of you for pointing me in the right direction. I really expected to find it (the option) to be more local than in General Preferences. (Version 9.0.2)
