Rapscallion is a client that allows you to
connect to MUDs (Multi-User Dimensions).
This broad term describes a wide variety of
environments to which many users can
simultaneously connect for interaction. MUDs
are commonly used for gamers to meet to play
text-based, role-playing, character-building
games, although they can be used for any type
of text-based community interaction.
Connecting to a MUD takes a little practice;
when you first use Rapscallion, try the Open
Special option in the File menu to get an
automatic connection setup. Rapscallion comes
with a highly extensive HTML help document
you can use to figure out how to master this
program and enter all kinds of online
communities. You can even use Rapscallion as
an IRC client for chatting.
As some people will have noticed, nothing has been done on the Rapscallion project for far too long. This has been for a lot of reasons, mainly the oh-so-much-fun, and somewhat unexpected twists and turns of real life.
For this, I apologise.
I cannot, in all conscience, keep charging for a project that I haven't worked on for so long, so... Rapscallion is now free.
Rather than work on the deserialisation of it, and release a new version, I have chosen to publish a serial number for it:

JAY KOUTAVAS You may want to consider Savitar. It continues to be in active development, since 1996. It is running beautifully on Mac OS X. I intend to continue to develop it. Let me know what I can do to improve Savitar to your needs. http://www.heynow.com/Savitar/ (Version 2.0.2)

ANONYMOUS I enjoyed this client very much when I was using it. Unfortunately, right after I registered the devs dropped off the face of the planet. That was 5 years ago. There has been no news since. My only problem with it was how it captures prompts to display graphically (e.g. hit points, mana, etc.). OS 9 only. Not sure if it works in Classic or not. (Version 2.0.2)

ANONYMOUS Rapscallion works beautifully in Classic, and has been, as posted earlier, partially carbonized by the developer with the result that you can use it in a fairly unstable fashion in X. In particular, it crashes whenever I attempt to use the Notebook. (Version 2.0.2)
