AKANICO $10 to upgrade from the 5.3 to 5.5 ? What is the big improvement to motivate users ? Sorry guys, I'd rather give it to Cyberduck for not charging people with a great ftp software... (Version 5.5.2)

OPETER Really nice application, using it since two years. I got it with the MacUpdate bundle in 2007, yesterday I buyed the 5.5 upgrade for 10 $. How can I CHMOD a whole folder, I mean, the files inside a folder? I know, I can choose a folder, press the "Get Info" and change the permissions in that window. But what, if I have a a folder, with many subfolder and many files inside? Is the only option to CHMOD all these, to open every folder manually and use the get info? This is very time consuming to make this will all subfolders and files. Is there any option, to make this somehow faster? (Version 5.5.1)

JIM MATTHEWS Yes, there is an easier way. You can download the Fetch Example Scripts from http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/download . One of the scripts is called "Recursive Fetch Permissions" -- it will do exactly what you want. Please contact Fetch support if you run into any problems. Fetch Softworks (Version 5.5.1)

EXORZIST A trustworthy application, well done. Very stable. I use it since two years or more. 29$ is a good price for this kind of backbone-quality. It does the job in the most professional way. Thats why I bought it. I also remember we used Fetch in the office over 10 years ago. Recommended. (Version 5.5.1)

MARK_CAIRNS Following on from my 3-star hatred rating of 5.5.0 below, I'm awarding this update 5-stars again. All the problems with the initial release have now been fixed (I've been given their Beta for the past few weeks before this full release) and I'm a happy camper again. Big thanks to Scott and his colleagues for all their help over the past month. You deserve it. A++ (Version 5.5.1)

ACCOUNTCLOSED Fetch has been around under the care of dedicated and responsive developers for years. IMO it's hands down the best FTP client available for OS X. Do yourself a favor and check it out. (Version 5.5.1)

ORION MK. V Fetch WAS great, but in this modern day and age it's just not worth the money IMHO. I keep trying Fetch, but I find myself returning to Transmit (shareware) or Cyberduck (free). (Version 5.5.1)

EXORZIST I think FTP/SFTP is still the same like 10 years ago. I also think your comment is totally nonsense and shows how incompetent you are and that you have no good intend whatsoever. I wonder why you even wrote your comment. So, which modern times you are talking of? Making money with a crappy application like the one you mentioned? (Version 5.5.1)

MARK_CAIRNS I've been using Fetch for over 12 years, and I'm dismayed by how unstable v5.5 is. Any existing (pre 5.5) Fetch shortcuts crash the software on opening. I've had to go back and start again and create new shortcuts for all my managed websites (a big job). (Version 5.5)

REOWEN This is a very nice sftp client and was my first choice for many years. I found it to be robust and with excellent technical support. However, I switched to Yummy FTP several years ago due to two issues, which are still present in Fetch 5.5: * I only remotely edit text documents. Unfortunately I can't tell Fetch that. As a result whenever I try to edit a document of unknown type it asks me whether I want to use a text editor, graphic editor or other app. This drives me nuts. * Fetch requires a dummy password when used with ssh agent. Admittedly only a minor annoyance (you can save the dummy password in the keychain to avoid being asked for it every time) but I dislike cluttering up my keychain with nonsense. * Fetch offers many useful settings for tuning behavior with different hosts. Unfortunately these settings are global; you cannot set them differently for different hosts, which renders them nearly useless. Fortunately you probably won't need the settings anyway since most modern hosts work fine with the defaults. Note that I submitted change requests to Fetch tech support. They were quite polite, but clearly were not convinced that these issues are worth fixing. I encourage you to give Fetch a try (especially if the issues above do not bother you) but also give Yummy FTP a look. (Version 5.5)

Thanks for the feedback. We tried to improve the edit behavior in this release; please let me know if you still see that problem. I hear you about the global settings; that's something we want to address. (Version 5.5)

PENNYHEAD1 I maintain four websites (one with over 7G of info) and have been using Fetch since 2002 and consider it an indispensable tool. The following three updates are worth the price of the upgrade (for me at least): * Edit any sort of remote file using any application and the changes will be automatically saved back to the server * Use Quick Look to preview remote files without leaving Fetch * Improved compatibility and reliability, including automatic resume of uploads that stop or stall in the middle -- Fetch will keep going It's certainly worth every penny. A big thank you goes out to the developer!
