Fetch is a full-featured FTP, SFTP and FTPS (FTP with TLS/SSL) client with a simple and easy-to-use interface.

SHOCK J OK... Moving from version 5.3.1 to 5.5 requires an upgrade fee. Let's see what we get... ⢠Improved Edit command - you can now edit any kind of file using any application and the changes will automatically be saved back to the server ⢠Added automatic resume of stalled or failed uploads ⢠Added Quick Look support for previewing files on servers (Mac OS X 10.5 and later only) ⢠Added support for gestures on laptop trackpads: in the transfer window, swipe left to go back to previously viewed folder, swipe up to go to the parent folder, and swipe down to open the selected folder ⢠Made Get Info quicker by not calculating folder sizes until you ask for them And that's it! $10 isn't a lot but I don't appreciate being nickel-and-dimed for these measly updates that don't add any "real" new or useful features. Gestures on trackpads?! Gimme a break. This is a FTP client not a word processor. That's total a bloatware feature in order to try and justify charging an upgrade fee. And their "fix" for "Get Info"... how long did that take to recode, 10 minutes? This should be version 5.3.2 And it should be FREE.

Thanks for the feedback. Fetch 5.5 is our first paid upgrade in 4 years; we think the work we've done since 5.0 is definitely worth $10. You're free to disagree, of course, but please give it a spin first. I find it hard to go back to 5.3.1 -- I keep missing 5.5 improvements. Jim Matthews, Fetch Softworks

ADRIANB Even though this is the first paid upgrade in 4 years I must agree with with Shock J. It is a very short list of major features (of which none are interesting to me) and then a huge list of fixes that you normally would get in a free update. I do like Fetch and I've been a paying customer for a long time and I usually buy all upgrades, but I'll think I'll pass on this one for now.

REOWEN This is a very nice sftp client and was my first choice for many years. I found it to be robust and with excellent technical support. However, I switched to Yummy FTP several years ago due to two issues, which are still present in Fetch 5.5: * I only remotely edit text documents. Unfortunately I can't tell Fetch that. As a result whenever I try to edit a document of unknown type it asks me whether I want to use a text editor, graphic editor or other app. This drives me nuts. * Fetch requires a dummy password when used with ssh agent. Admittedly only a minor annoyance (you can save the dummy password in the keychain to avoid being asked for it every time) but I dislike cluttering up my keychain with nonsense. * Fetch offers many useful settings for tuning behavior with different hosts. Unfortunately these settings are global; you cannot set them differently for different hosts, which renders them nearly useless. Fortunately you probably won't need the settings anyway since most modern hosts work fine with the defaults. Note that I submitted change requests to Fetch tech support. They were quite polite, but clearly were not convinced that these issues are worth fixing. I encourage you to give Fetch a try (especially if the issues above do not bother you) but also give Yummy FTP a look.

Thanks for the feedback. We tried to improve the edit behavior in this release; please let me know if you still see that problem. I hear you about the global settings; that's something we want to address.

MARK_CAIRNS Following on from my 3-star hatred rating of 5.5.0 below, I'm awarding this update 5-stars again. All the problems with the initial release have now been fixed (I've been given their Beta for the past few weeks before this full release) and I'm a happy camper again. Big thanks to Scott and his colleagues for all their help over the past month. You deserve it. A++

ACCOUNTCLOSED Fetch has been around under the care of dedicated and responsive developers for years. IMO it's hands down the best FTP client available for OS X. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

MARK_CAIRNS I've been using Fetch for over 12 years, and I'm dismayed by how unstable v5.5 is. Any existing (pre 5.5) Fetch shortcuts crash the software on opening. I've had to go back and start again and create new shortcuts for all my managed websites (a big job).

KOBALT I've used Fetch for what seems like a lifetime, now and *never* have any issues with it. I didn't really need an update, but what the heck, I'll install it anyway. Six stars!

SIDDHARTHA FETCH is the best-I have never had any issues with this software. It simply works. For whatever reason, I have had timeout problems with some of the competitors to this program, but NEVER with Fetch. As the previous poster mentioned-this program is stable, simple to use, and almost idiot-proof

JANIEWC I had been using Fetch since, geez, OS 7. After developing sites for years using GoLive I didn't need a stand alone FTP app. After going to an already set up SQL, I needed FTP only and there was my good old Fetch, working just as great as before. I love drag and drop. I love the simple, powerful interface and still the cute puppy! Thanks for being there for me again!

KUKKIS Fetch is missing the WebDav that can be found on Transmit and on ForkLift.
