EGGSHELL Its 2009 and I just can't believe how such application did establish itself as an internet video standard today . It's ultra heavy , it's the main reason for crashes in all the browsers and it's even getting worse with updates I use many Adobe products ( Ps , Lr and Br are essential tools for me ) and I'm used to their stable performance so Flash player is really an exception (Version 10.1.51.45)

MACLOVER1.1 For me it works well and fast.. so fast I even had to slightly recode some of the loading in one my FLA's that did not quite handle a shared library correctly at such speed lol. Simple logical fix did it. HOWEVER... I do experience a bug when typing into input textfields in Safari... like logging into beatport.com etc... each letter gets typed twice.. does not do that in Camino, Firefox etc.. so dunno.. a flashafari issue.. CSPGQQT Definitely a step in the right direction, the CPU usage drops to 70 % on my Mac Mini (MacOS 10.6.2) while using Pandora, ClassicFM, National Geographic with Safari. Previously, I can't hardly move my mouse. (Version 10.1.51.45)

VINCE. i spent some time today testing this new flash beta. what i can say is, that it needs some less cpu time under safari (64bit), it has become a bit faster in reacting to clicks - even when there are more tabs open with flash content. but we should not forget, that Flash on Mac is still far away from giving an acceptable performance. Firefox (eg.) needed >100% CPU while i was playing an HD video. thats quiet alot, with flash 10.0.32.18 it needed like 120%, so it has become a bit better, but it is still not good (or acceptable). I tested under Snow Leopard 10.6.2 on a Mac Book (mid 2009) 2.13 GHz with 2GB Ram. (Version 10.1.51.45)

ILGAZ If Apple says Snow Leopard has GPU acceleration and Adobe&Several others can't implement it, it is either Apple or others not saying the truth. This is a very alerting release note. Is GPU acceleration exclusive to Quicktime X only? No API? Not Stable API? We really need some explanation. (Version 10.1.51.45)

JAMESKITTY Snow Leopard introduced OpenCL (GPU Processing) and GrandCentral (dynamic threading to optimize for multiple processors/cores). Both are quite stable and effective. But both require you use Xcode's compilers. Adobe -- and several other software vendors -- develop for non-mac platforms first and then port that code to macintosh using non-Xcode tools. The resulting programs can't utilize the advanced OS features and often suffer performance wise because of it. It's not great for mac consumers, but the bean-counters at the top of the pile still see the number of non-mac users in one pile as being much higher, and believe they should be developing (and testing) for that pile first. KAWAII They could use OpenCL but that limits the number supported - with that being said, hardware acceleration won't fix Flash because Flash is more than just h264 playback; Flash stinks, what is required is a fundamental overhaul that gives the code a fine tooth comb analysis of every line of code - fixing up bugs and optimising code as required. DROOPYSIGNAL Definitely less taxing on the CPU and seems to have fixed the scrolling issue with http://www.thefwa.com/ Noticed a nice speed improvement and sites like YouTube and Hulu load quicker and Safari crashes less! BTW, I know it's CosmoPod that's causing Safari to hangup when initially opening the browser. (Version 10.1.51.45)
