With support for a broad range of mobile devices, including smartphones, netbooks, smartbooks and other Internet-connected devices, Flash Player 10.1 allows your content to reach your customers wherever they are.
A prerelease version of Flash Player 10.1 is now available for Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems. A beta is expected to be available for Palm webOS later this year. Sign up to be notified when Flash Player 10.1 for Palm Pre beta is available.
This public prerelease is an opportunity for developers to test and provide early feedback to Adobe on new features, enhancements, and compatibility with previously authored content. Consumers can try the beta release of Flash Player 10.1 to preview hardware acceleration of video on supported Windows PCs and x86-based netbooks. You can also help make Flash Player better by visiting all of your favorite sites, making sure they work the same or better than with the current player. We definitely want your feedback to help improve the final version, expected to ship in the first half of 2010.

STROB Unbelievably this latest version 10 is worse that the last. Not only is video choppy and jumpy but now voices are completely out of sync with the video. Great going Adobe! Reverting back to v.9....again. (Version 10.0.22.87)

SPRINGHEELMAC Adobe released another update to version 9; it's 9.0.246.0. It also has all the latest security updates like 10. Here's the link: 'get.adobe.com/flashplayer' Simply select "Flash 9" from the drop down. If you're having Flash issues on an older Mac and still want to see all the goodies, I highly recommend 9.0.246.0. (Version 10.0.32.18)

BEIGE go gametrailers.com and tell me that this isn't the worst software ever made. My 8-core Nehalem is apparently not powerful enough to play a 320x240 Flash ad. Go team. (Version 10.0.22.87)

ALEXIUSCA Everyone in flash should install this: http://github.com/rentzsch/clicktoflash/tree/master FlashBlock for Safari! Yay! The so called 'company related biases' are just as irrelevant as your supportive comments. The facts are that RAM and CPU surge with Flash, and tests show the increase is exponentially higher on the mac than it is on windows. This would indicate that the Mac version is sub-optimal at best, but is more likely quite poorly written after so many years on the platform. (Version 10.0.22.87)

MINIMAL I also had to go back to Flash 9 on my dual 2.7ghz PPC. Flash 10 runs like molasses, and anything but the simplest flash content drops tons of frames. Unfortunately Adobe just doesn't seem to care anymore. To bad, since they used to be one of my favorite software companies. What exactly are you doing Adobe? (Version 10.0.12.36)

SNOWWHITESICKETTE My review is biased, because I hate Flash. It's been so many years, I've actually forgotten if Flash ever worked normally on one of my Macs. I think it did almost a decade ago. Flash makes the internet very unpleasant for Mac users. I wish it would fade away for good. Adobe Flash saves a file of cookies in the user library that are not deleted the usual way. There is no preference panel to access Flash, unless you go to the Adobe website. I think it's very rude of them to save unwanted debris on my hard drive. I found a bunch of remnants from websites I hadn't visited in a year. No thank you. And Flash allows websites to interact with those cookies, and even access your built-in camera and microphone. I don't know about you folks, but when I want to share my live video and audio, I use iChat or some other program. Not my web browser. (There may be a useful aspect to this, but to me it's just another potential security hole.) Dear Flash, I loathe you. You are a buggy, flawed, stuttering, choppy mess of a plug-in. You are the only thing that ruins the otherwise perfect enjoyment of my Macs. And you are everywhere. I hope to see the day when you are nothing but a distant bad memory. Sincerely, SWS (Version 10.0.32.18)

SPRINGHEELMAC Flash Player 10 is HORRIBLE on PPC Macs. That said, the best version out there for PPC is 9.0.159. This will enable you to utilize sites like Myspace and whatever else has been asking you to upgrade from 9.0.124 without having to install 10. Get it at 'http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/'. Select "Flash Player 9 for System 10.1-10.3" from the drop down menu. The only problem is, it doesn't come with an installer. That's an easy enough fix; put the two items into "Library/Internet Plugins". 9.0.159 has the latest security features like 10, but its faster for us PPC users than 10. I was getting frustrated not being able to use some sites with 9 and 10 was totally hosing my system. With 9.0.159, I can have my cake and eat it too (for the time being, at least). Get it a shot. CUNEYT you said 10.1 to 10.3.. I have a PPC with 10.4, what do you recommend? (Version 10.0.22.87)

SPRINGHEELMAC I have a PPC eMac and Flash 9.0.159 works great on it. I stayed with 9.0.124 for a long time due to it being the last version 9 with an installer, but you can't listen to music on MySpace with it anymore so I upgraded to 9.0159. Its supposed to have better security anyway. I would suggest it; you can always switch back if you notice problems, but I haven't found any. (Version 10.0.22.87)

SPRINGHEELMAC Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm using 10.5.6. The 10.1 - 10.3 is just the minimum requirement I think. (Version 10.0.22.87)

DBAGDADI Where can I get version 9.0.159 from? I'm using 9.0.246 which I downloaded from Adobe's website. (Version 10.0.32.18)

THREEDEE912 Flash has always been sllooowww on the Mac, and still is. Horrible frame rates on animations and games, and high CPU usage on videos. This is another reason why we need to stick with open standards, like CSS3 animations, and HTML5 video elements. (Version 10.0.22.87)

EGGSHELL Its 2009 and I just can't believe how such application did establish itself as an internet video standard today . It's ultra heavy , it's the main reason for crashes in all the browsers and it's even getting worse with updates I use many Adobe products ( Ps , Lr and Br are essential tools for me ) and I'm used to their stable performance so Flash player is really an exception (Version 10.1.51.45)
