///2K  Evocam is great! I have two mac's and two Rocketfish webcams streaming perfectly! One tip that was a pain in the arse to figure out is in order to allow other viewers to watch your stream, you need to change the internal IP address (ex. 192.xxx.x.x:8080) to your external IP. To find your external IP address, go to whatsmyip.com. The substitute the external IP (ex. 24.xxx.x.x). So when you send someone the link, send them http://24.xxx.x.x:8080/webcam.html

MAHAMBO  Nice at first sight, but very crappy video/audio recording. The audio is completely unsynchronized with the video. Tried to change default settings to no avail.

ANONYMOUS  this is a nice little app, and the price is good, but for far more features and better performance, take a look at securityspy. Very little CPU overhead (in comparison to this app) and very configurable.

This is not a dig at this app, but it's always good to have choice, and competition.

Now, if only any of these two apps could get the audio as well....

Cheers

HANK  I love EvoCam -- I put two small stereo movie samples made with it, each under 1 meg, at

www dot ankh dot members dot sonic dot net

(if you can view a stereo pair you ought to be able to see these stereo movies on the screen the same way).

EvoCam, two UniBrain Fire-i firewire cameras, Powerbook Pismo G3/400 -- deadly slow firewire bus, but gotta start somewhere! Proof of concept.

Wish list

-- to have an added option for EvoCam to make pairs of files, so I could use the Java Stereo Applet viewer (which allows the viewer a wide choice of ways to view any given pair). (Wish list for the Applet author is, a way to display pairs fast enough to view as a movie!)

-- to be able to keep a pair of firewire cameras synchronized while both feeds go into an EvoCam canvas (is there a clock tick or something available)? Otherwise after a few minutes, stereo fails due to synchronization loss).

Love the app. Nothing else does this -- and stereo movies are cheap and easy to do with it!

WWW.ELECTRONICHOLAS.COM  Always a great app, but a pity there isn't really anything new in this update. Have the developers run out of time? Would be nice to have better file save features, improved compatablilty with webcams etc...

Still..no complaints, it still works!

FLOH  The only problem I've encountered is that after running it for a while (30-60min +) it'll freeze on the last image it took and seem to upload new pictures but the image stays frozen... Otherwise really good.

RANDALL DEMAREE  I tried this program out and was quite pleased with the options and ease of use so I bought it. I had a second camera, a linksys wireless g, which wasn't supported so I emailed the develeoper and asked about it. Within two days I had an email back asking for access to my camera so they could look at it. Within a week they'd reverse engineered the firmware, found options that I don't think linksys knows about and had a new version of their software that supported it. Now thats what I call support. The webserver is a piece of cake and the other options are great. I highly recommend both the software and the company. It's these kinds of developers that make the mac community what it is.

ANONYMOUS  This is one rock solid web cam with some great features.

The built in web server works great. I have used it on everything from a G5 to my power G4. The password protection is nice when using it for watching the house.

You can not only stream live video, but also take pics and upload them to a directory. I like having the choice. Sometimes I don't want to burn the bandwidth and just take pics every x minutes.

You can also use it to record video. A nice extra feature. Great product!!!!!
