Mac OS Runtime for Java (MRJ) is Apple's implementation of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), based on Sun Microsystems' Java specification. MRJ allows you to run Java applications and applets.
Version 2.2.6 provides fixes that allow Oracle 11i client applications to communicate with Oracle's application servers over HTTPS. It is recommended that you only update to MRJ 2.2.6 if you need to use Oracle 11i client applications over HTTPS and your Oracle software is properly configured to support HTTPS communication with Mac OS 9 clients.
REQUIREMENTS
PowerPC, MacOS 8.1 or later, 68030 processor or better, Disk Copy 6.1.3 or later.

ANONYMOUS not to be snarky, but if you read the advisory, it says: "It is recommended that you only update to MRJ 2.2.6 if you need to use Oracle 11i client applications over HTTPS and your Oracle software is properly configured to support HTTPS communication with Mac OS 9 clients." (Version 2.2.6)
ANONYMOUS Well its apple software so I expect it to be good which it is but what does this update do? I see no difference other than a very slight speed improvement on the internet.
Features well 5
Ease of Use: hmmmm what is easy about it so I just give it an automatic 5 it just hides basically
value well da
Stability: This Java stuff is stable (Version 2.2.5)
BRIAN CLARK Hard to tell whether this really does make the speed improvements that it says. But an interesting note is that it can take up to 100MB of disk in caching .jar files. Amazingly, no one seems to care about this nowadays, with everyone having super-big hard drives. (Version )
