BetterTouchTool adds many new, fully customizable gestures to Magic Mouse and MacBook Touchpad

These gestures are customizable:

Magic Mouse:

  • Pinch in / out (zoom)
  • Single finger tap left

WHAT'S NEW
Version 0.5173:
  • Some bugfixes for the new gesture (should conflict less with orignal apple 3 finger swipes etc)
  • added left and right (but currently only for touchpad) too
  • Renamed the gesture to TipSwipe Left Finger Up/Down/Right/Left
  • fixed a problem where some programs froze for about 2 seconds after dragging

FELIPE LUSTSURE  I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THIS EXISTED!!! All this time I was wondering who was going to takeover development of this idea from the guy who made a half-baked version of this called "Multiclutch." Thanks for keeping the torch going!

JAMESB  Anybody else notice that BTT is coded for PPC/Intel, yet the requirements are OS X 10.6 which will not install on a PPC machine?

OGER  Great app!

Would be even nicer if the magicmouse-like momentum scrolling could be set for the two-finger touchpad-scroll as well. Would make scrolling a lot more versatile especially on small screens. Or maybe I missed that function?

HONKNATION  Maybe someone can explain how they installed the app or got it working? -- I'm not a Mac newbie by any means, but none of the 10+ versions I d/l'd from this site or the DEV's seem to work..

Is this a stand-alone app? - or a preference pane..?

HONKNATION  I've downloaded this file and app from here, and right from DEV's site; it downloads fine.. however, every time I 'open' the app (double click), it does nothing.. kinda like a bunk / corrupted dmg file..

Ironically, I open up Activity Monitor, and see that this app is running in the background, until I manually quit it.. but there's no GUI interface, and +TAB never shows this app as 'running'.. only Activity Monitor sees it..

Basically the app won't fire up.. what gives?

I'm on OS X 10.6.2, MacBookPro 17" 2.8Ghz, 4GB Ram, etc..

ANTRO31  Hey guys ! What happened with this latest version ? My default two finger swipe left/right do not work anymore with my Firefox french safari !

Thanks to repair.

Forgetting this, I really like this piece of software !

ANDREAS HEGENBERG  I think you have to logout and back in or restart your mac. I'm not sure but I think it's a snow leopard bug and is not related to this version of btt.
