MACFENTON As a longtime user of Typestyler in its earlier OS9 version, I cannot see what would bring me to buy this new (?) version for $200. C'mon Strider make it affordable, the US economy cannot afford to bail everyone out. (Version 10.6.39)

C. SPENCER VAN GULICK Old-time Typestyler user. Find this new version fraught with former negatives: e.g. ugly, painfully slow. Nevertheless, when it's around, its versatility and production are peerless. I might pay the hefty upgrade price were I confident that my investment wouldn't be useless of OS 10.6.6, for instance, because the program has gone to ground again. Furthermore, old features are implemented in new ways in this version - as are, I suspect, some new features - but the manual isn't available yet. So Typestyler needs documentation and somehow, after all its lumpy history, an established (better) track record. She's still a beautiful dame, but she's dumped me too often. Time will tell if I'm smitten enough to welcome her back eventually this time - or if, as I can only hope, she's changed... (Version 10.6.39)

APPLEDOGX Nearly a whopping $200 for a type styling program????? I could see this at $49, but for this much cash, it must do something I might be missing. (Version 10.6.39)

COSJR I totally agree with sleepless. Absolutely great software, outdated and unpolished ui. Introductory discount $49.95 from full retail $99.00 and your price will be in right range. You've worked hard at getting this to this stage of development. I'm in my 50's and have been using Typestyler forever, so I'm thinking the developer must be around my age or more. You price this thing right and you can hire all the programmers you need to keep it modern, sell it off to someone later and retire in style. It shouldn't have taken this long to get this out the door. You have a lot of ground to make up. Just do it! (Version 10.6.39)

LEFTCOASTAMY I've been a Typestyler user for a long time. Like most everyone, I thought this was dead software. I am so thrilled to have this powerful and friendly tool back in my graphics arsenal. Try this in any other program: Bend some type into a neat arch, apply a wood shader effect, then choose Break Apart Text from the Object menu. Now export as Photoshop layers and check out the results in Photoshop. Amazing! Arttext is not bad software but it is a toy compared to Typestyler. This new version is the most powerful type manipulation program I have ever seen. My only complaint is that it took so long but now that I have it, I love it. (Version 10.6.35)

TOD WICKS OK, I'll jump on the bandwagon. I too remember this from the 1990s and after it went into a deep coma, I went over to Art Text. While AT fills my basic needs, I'd really like to justify going back to TS. Unfortunately the price (even the upgrade price) is a huge turnoff in these economic times. To Strider Software: Please offer this up as an MU Promo at a very reasonable price (like $65?) or a "re-introduction" holiday promo for $85 good through Dec 31, 2009. As others have stated, you'll have us users beating down your door. What can you lose? It appears that very few of us will buy it at $100 or $200 so if you lower the price for a while, you're guaranteed sales. It's not like hard goods where the margin is too little if you discount it. A copy sold at $60 is a $60 bonus for you. (Version 10.6.39)

SJSW After demoing this "new" version I can say with complete confidence that this does not look, act, or feel like a modern Mac Program. It feels and functions like a "leftover" from OS 9 which, after a little research, it appears that it is. I find it hard to believe that the developer could justify the price tag he's put on this semi-restored relic when Art Text 2 is 1/5 the price, has much of the functionality and is elegantly designed for OS X. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer that my software is updated more than once every ten years...then again, maybe P.T. Barnum was right. (Version 10.6.35)

TORPEAU TypeStyler is different, but there is no good alternative to this app. I bought the new version and accept it for what it is -- unique. (Version 10.6.39)
