MRBOMA Having a conflict that is slowing Safari down: Plugins/Safari AdBlocker.bundle/Contents/MacOS/../Frameworks/Sparkle.framework/Versions/A/Sparkle and /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/Safari Cookies.bundle/Contents/MacOS/../Frameworks/Sparkle.framework/Versions/A/Sparkle. One of the two will be used. Which one is undefined. This error repeats itself over and over and over and Safari gets progressively slower and slower. (Version 1.7.1)

FOCX This is "trouble" on a high level ;) Adblocker is outstanding! I wonder if there is any way to a) fight text ads (eg. Facebook) and b) recover the layout space taken by ads (Adblock on Firefox removes the element and leaves no empty space behind) Thanks in advance! (Version 1.7.1)

ALGOS Since updating to 1.7 I am plagued by websites sometimes showing as a blank page with "1x1 pixels" appearing in the tab title, which is very annoying. I have to disable Safari Adblock or reload the page a couple of times to get it to show. Any tips? (Version 1.7)

BOLLYWOOD All the obvious ones, repair permissions, empty Safari Cache, maybe try resetting Safari. also, maybe try a different subscription.... (Version 1.7.1)

MINDSNARE Can confirm what "thereisacow" said. It works on 32bit only if you install SIMBL from the culater.net website and not in your installer. Another thing is that now you need to have at least one abonnement. Pretty stupid for people who have their own filters and don't even need other lists. For the ones who want add their filters manually, they should be able to go without abonnement. And if you have Safari Cookies installed along Safari AdBlocker, you get lots of console blabber like this: objc[2083]: Class SUUpdateDriver is implemented in both /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/Safari AdBlocker.bundle/Contents/MacOS/../Frameworks/Sparkle.framework/Versions/A/Sparkle and /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/Safari Cookies.bundle/Contents/MacOS/../Frameworks/Sparkle.framework/Versions/A/Sparkle. One of the two will be used. Which one is undefined. Get rid of this and it is a good software. (Version 1.7)

BOLLYWOOD those console errors are a problem with Sparkle, and if you have any other Sparkle enabled plugins installed, you will get the same thing. Ill remove the necessity for subscriptions in an update. (Version 1.7)
| Jan 13 2010 |
thanks for the quick reply. btw, what's the deal with Sparkle...(One of the two will be used)? i get that error message in other apps also. (Version 1.7)
| Jan 13 2010 |
BOLLYWOOD not too sure, but its doesn't seem to affect updating. the dev hasn't really spent anytime fixing the bugs in Sparkle...... Im pretty sure he got snatched up by Apple, is is working on their Software Update app. (Version 1.7)
| Jan 13 2010 |
MINDSNARE Maybe then you could think about a bundle version of Cookies & AdBlocker with only one Sparkle function? (Version 1.7)
| Jan 13 2010 |
ZX You know, i have just tested the speed of auto opining 10 tabs in safari. apparently AdBlocker is increasing load up time by 100%! is this normal? I'm only using 4 subscriptions ( Fanbo'y, Easy, AdBlockRules, Malware...) (Version 1.7)
| Jan 13 2010 |
BOLLYWOOD the more subscriptions you have, the more cycles your computer is going to need to process, so there will be slowdown...... I noticed this especially with the malware subscriptions (Version 1.7)
| Jan 13 2010 |
so which are the essential subscriptions that you recommend using? also, is it a good idea to use the manual blocking option? thanks again. (Version 1.7)
| Jan 13 2010 |
BOLLYWOOD I am using the easy privacy, and fanboys tracking stats blocking subscriptions, which catches most ads. I also have a couple manual filters for some australian sites i visit. (Version 1.7)
| Jan 13 2010 |
MINDSNARE That's why I'm using only my own manual filters of 30-40 entries max. They work well primarily for my bookmarks only (I can live with whatever else gets through, it's only very few ads), but they don't slow down Safari like these 200kb lists with hundreds (or thousands) of entries. (Version 1.7)

BOLLYWOOD Ive just uploaded to my site v1.7.1, which fixes the carsh when updating, removes the need for subscriptions, and hopefully fixes the SIMBL 32-bit installer problem.... (Version 1.7.1)
| Jan 14 2010 |
MINDSNARE v1.7.1 works fine! :) (Version 1.7.1)
| Jan 13 2010 |
THEREISACOW1337 No need to be stumped, this works on 32bit machines if you run the latest SIMBL (from their website) after installing Adblocker. You're using a bad SIMBL version in your installer that fills the console with "bad cpu type" entries if you're on a 32bit (Version 1.7)

BOLLYWOOD Ive just uploaded to my site v1.7.1, which fixes the carsh when updating, removes the need for subscriptions, and hopefully fixes the SIMBL 32-bit installer problem.... are you able to test it, and let me know if the installer is now fixed? I dont have a 32bit Intel to try it my self. (Version 1.7.1)

HAMDI Great. Works smoothly and effectively. My Macbook feels much cooler and peaceful now once having been rid of all those disgusting banners. Many thanks to the developer. (Version 1.7)

APIKOROS Does not fully install on my Intel Core Duo iMac, with Safari 4.0.4 and OS 10.6.2. SIMBL/plugins/Safari Adblocker.bundle are installed in /Library/Application Support, but the parts that are to be installed in ~/Library aren't there. (Version 1.7)

BOLLYWOOD All that is installed is the bundle. everything else should be created when you open Safari. (Version 1.7)
| Jan 12 2010 |
APIKOROS I've reinstalled twice. No go. It doesn't show up in Safari's preferences. I do have SafariBlock installed; does that make a difference? Disabling SafariBlock and then reinstalling Safari Adblocker made no difference. (Version 1.7)
| Jan 12 2010 |
BOLLYWOOD this must be something to do with having a 32bit machine..... Ill have a look into it. (Version 1.7)

BOLLYWOOD Ive just uploaded v1.7.1 which (hopefully) fixes this problem with the SIMBL installer on 32bit Intel. when you install, make sure to customise, and reinstall SIMBL. can you let me know if it works. otherwise, just get and reinstall SIMBL from here: http://www.culater.net/software/SIMBL/SIMBL.php (Version 1.7.1)
| Jan 13 2010 |
APIKOROS Sigh. Everything seemed to install where the installer said they would, but Safari coughed up the beachball, was unresponsive and had to be force quit. Sorry. (Version 1.7.1)
