DESCRIPTION

WebDrive for Mac integrates SFTP, WebDAV, FTP, FTPS, or GroupDrive servers into OS X Finder by mounting the server as a local device. This allows you to use your favorite Macintosh applications to edit files and save them directly to the server. WebDrive for Mac supports SSL and SSH encryption capabilities for secure file transfers and Digest Authentication support for WebDAV servers.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.01.202:
  • Added: New configuration tabs for MacFuse, Internet, and Cache settings.
  • Added: Localization support. Please contact sales@southrivertech.com if you would be interested in assisting with the translation of WebDrive for Mac into your native language.
  • Changed: Increased the default timeout for file and folder caching to be 10 minutes up from 30 seconds. This was done to accommodate larger sites where it took longer than 30 seconds to cache information.
  • Changed: Added a new HttpSslMode setting and SiteFtpSslMode and depricated EncryptionType setting. If you have an FTPS or HTTPS site configured, please check the site profile settings to make sure the configuration is still correct.
  • Fixed: FTP issue that could prevent logon if user did not have any permissions to the parent directory of their home directory.
  • Fixed: WebDrive now does much better MacFuse version validation at startup. WebDrive requires MacFuse v2.0. If MacFuse is not installed, WebDrive will launch the MacFuse 2.0 installer. If a different version is installed, the user must uninstall the existing version of MacFuse and then re-launch WebDrive to have MacFuse 2.0 installed.
  • Fixed: WebDAV issue against IIS servers with an invalid Depth: header being specified during a Rename for a directory.
  • Fixed: \'Anonymous\' setting was not being retained when editing a site profile.
  • Fixed: FTP engine could potentially crash if it encountered an FTP response that did not contain a response string
  • Fixed: FTP GetProperties issue which would fail to find a directory if the server did not support MLST and the server failed to return the \'.\' entry in a folder listing.
  • Fixed: Various issues in the processing of directory listing for some SFTP servers.
  • Fixed: WebDAV issue that could potentially cause a \'delete\' to fail for files and folders.
  • Fixed: WebDAV issue that could potentially cause a \'rename\' to fail for files and folders.
  • Fixed: Issue that would prevent access to files containing special umlaut characters.
  • Fixed: PROPFIND issue that prevented access to box.net servers.
  • Fixed: Cookies were not being retained properly for DAV servers.

MACSWEEP  Are you saying I should have given it a zero star rating?

MACSWEEP  I installed Webdrive on a MBP running OS 10.5.7. When double-clicked to launch, the app comes up in the Dock and immediately disappears.

FLAVUM  If you haven't actually used the program, how can you rate it? Crashing on launch is certainly a problem, but that's hardly enough to garner a 1-star rating.

TOD WICKS  I'm running SL 10.6.1 on a Mac Mini 2.26.

I tried this and after setting up my FTP site on a web drive, I selected "mount" from the options and got a message "successfully mounted." However, that was the dying gasp of my system as the entire Mac froze. No Finder, no Safari, couldn't force quit, nothing except to hold the power button in for several seconds. Tried again, same result.

I went and downloaded the free AutomountMaker, and it does indeed work fine in SL. Easy to set up, no need for the app to run (Webdrive requires you to select a drive from within the app), it just creates a script that mounts the drive. I've got the script in my Finder side bar and clicking simply mounts my remote servers. Slicker than ice in the Antarctic. Aside: My only gripe about AutomountMaker is that it always comes up in icon mode rather than list mode but that's a real small nitpick.

MKAY  After the installation I have 0 days of evaluation remaining. All site manager buttons except "buy it..." are greyed out.

This is a 4 week old iMac (running SL) and I'm positive that this app has never been installed on this machine before.

it's hard to evaluate something that doesn't let you use it.

Am I missing something?
