SAMUEL222 Well, it is better to download video with Safari Window -> Activity: Then you pick HD, best quality. As to converting to another format, yes it does it, but... with horrible quality. I'll stick with Safari. (Version 2.3.5)

BLABLABLA@DODGIT.COM FYI in the "About"-menu are all the supported web-sites listed (as links). Wouldn't miss that! (Version 2.1)

Sometimes, the downloaded files are missing. Strange. It downloads and shows "Completed" but the file is gone. A very disturbing user experience. After the application starts, the main window's default focus is in the "Downloads Directory:" text-field. If you press accidentally a key that path is changed. (Version 2.1)

BLABLABLA@DODGIT.COM I figured this out: if a server-dependent download-error occurs it stops downloading and shows the (wrong) message "Completed". It never completed but for some reason it couldn't proceed with the download and for some reason this situation is not properly handled by the app. (Version 2.1)

I've managed to compile a PPC version! I've downloaded the latest source and compiled it on my good old PM G5. I'm sure this app will run on any G4 and even a G3 (but that is something I need to test). The PPC version is very CPU friendly and the source is also very clean and well written! Anyone who is interested in this version, let me know and I'll put it online or I'll send to you. The diskimage is only 1,5Mb, so it's easy to e_mail or to upload this program to my personal or any server. Interested? Mail to doktermac@gmail.com !!! PS: Version is 2.1, plugins installed: 58, languages supported: 14, AutoUpdate is working ;-). (Version 2.1)

DOKTER_MAC I wonder why this version is 10+Mb? My build, in a automated dmg file is only 1,5Mb big? When I check the Intel version (Get Info) the app itself is much smaller. (Version 2.1)

EXORZIST The frameworks are 15 MB...? (Version 2.1)

LEPPE I've downloaded the Intel vesion, here from MacUpdate, and both apps Intel & PPC have almost the same size. I can't see or find any Frameworks on both dmg files? As far I can see you only need to drag & drop the app in the Application folder, both Intel & PPC Builds. No extra frameworks for installation... The only thing I can think is that the Intel version is using some standard dmg size... While the PPC version dmg file is made with the Terminal... Maybe it's a script error? Or different build settings in Qt? Anyway, it's much bigger and untill I can't investigate why it's guessing... BTW: The PPC version works very well untill now! I have no issues at all! The code must be very well written!!! (Version 2.1)

EXORZIST btw the frameworks I'm talking about are in the app-bundle (the app I download from MacUpdate). The question is: why has the developer them included in his distribution? Have fun finding the answer :) (Version 2.1)

DOKTER_MAC The weird thing is that there are no Framworks inside the app ;). Only Plugins, Language files, Resources, a Mac OS folder with the UNIX file, etc.

EXORZIST This is found in the app I downloaded from here: App-Bundle:Contents:Frameworks: ... I assume your executable is working on every machine which has QTKit installed...? (Version 2.1)

DOKTER_MAC You have a very good point! I need those PPC native frameworks if I wan't to see this app running on other PPC Macs where Qt is not installed... I'm going to contact the developer and see if he can help me. Qt is PPC compatible and the FrameWorks are installed in my Library (that's why this app works on my hardware), but they need to be inside the program as you say! Because if not, the app will not launch!!! BTW: I just received a log file from someone that proofs your theory ;). Thanks a lot for your help!!! Greets & kind regards. (Version 2.1)

EXORZIST You are welcome. Also thanks to you for your effort. I hope it goes well. btw, in the 'how to compile.txt' is something mentioned about a FRAMEWORKS version build (OSXonly). (Version 2.1)

EXORZIST Because it does the main-job (downloading) so well, it deserves a rating of 4. If the automatic converter default-setting would work like it's labeled (or I need some English-lessons?), I would give a 5+. Well done. (Version 2.1)

EXORZIST Well designed and compact tool. You don't have actually to visit the site with the movie you want to catch/download, just drag the link from the index page (youtube and so on) to xVideoServiceThief instead of clicking it. It's perfect. It also converts a possibly cryptic filename to a real one. Note: the default settings for the built-in video-converter aren't that satisfying: I switched converting off. Worth a try, but I don't think that the 'Output quality' Setting: "The Same quality as the original video" does fulfill that promising telling. I guess they have to rename or redesign this setting because the quality is really not the same... (Version 2.1)

DOKTER_MAC Would be nice to see a PPC/Intel version in the future and not an Intel Only... Fortunately there are enough alternatives, which are Universal, for free... BTW: Thanks for this free program! I'm going to try it out on my Intel iMac ;-).
