MISCHIVO Horrible port. The screenshot above is not from the Mac version, and should be removed until the following bugs are fixed:

-no dynamic shadows as the game has on Windows (and in the screenshot)

-no anti-aliasing option

What's the deal? When is this going to be fixed? Why was it left out? It's a fairly evident feature and I noticed its absence as soon as I fired up the game. Someone was either incompetent or the game was rushed to market with the flaws (despite numerous delays in delivery).

WEB-JIVE Buyer beware. EA decided to make this Intel only. My daughter bought this, brought it home and came downstairs really upset. When she pointed out on the box in fine print it only runs on Intel, I was not very happy with EA! That's her $50 which is a lot of money for a kid to lose due to fine print.

MISHA For what it's worth, all games released by Electronic Arts for the Mac in the last 2-3 years have been Intel only.

TRONDAH You're right, they should instead have a huge warning all around the box in red with exclamation marks: "DON'T BUY!!! INTEL ONLY!!! WARNING!!!"

D9 Trondah is right (though a bit too sarcastic). Since the dawn of software, system requirements have been on software boxes albeit usually in obscure places with small type. Besides being Intel-only, you should also be concerned about whether you're system has enough graphics power, hard drive space, processing power and/or the minimum OS. This goes for Windows software as well as Mac.

It's just good sense to always check system requirements prior to buying any software. Unfortunately, that's a lesson your daughter learned the hard way.

WEB-JIVE Kids don't read labels like we do and I have been buying software long enough (30 years) to know this. Kids and unaware people don't. I think what a lot of us geeks forget is that the laymen doesn't. I know this because I own a web design and hosting company and the questions I run into are the most basic for us, a duh thing, but not for the non-techie.

My point in all this was to warn those who aren't aware of these restrictions and to point out it's in fine print when it should be more prominent (no sarcasm).

I used to buy 65mil annually in software for ALLTEL so purchasing is my forte but not my daughters, a non-techie.

@D9 your right, always read the label and contract when you buy.. ;-)

MISCHIVO Of all the complaints that could be made about this game, yours is the least legitimate of all. Fine print is applicable and justifiable in all such cases, whether you're a minor or not. If it's not in the fine print, it has to go somewhere; perhaps half the box should be taken up by "medium print". Is that what you would like? The blame lies in your daughter for not reading the system requirements, not on the manufacturer for not making it of an arbitrarily large enough size for her to pay attention to.
