DESCRIPTION
Capo is a musician's best friend. It lets you slow down your favorite songs, so you can hear the notes and learn how they are played.

It's your music
No longer do you have to rely on the musical tastes of others to learn music. Drag songs right from your music collection into capo to start learning them.

Pitch adjustment
Capo lets you adjust the pitch of your songs-so you can change their key or fine tune them to match your instrument.

Markers
Use keyboard shortcuts to mark verses, choruses, bridges, and other important points in your songs so you can return to them later.

Looping
Repeat difficult sections slowly, playing along with your favorite artist. Speed up gradually as you get better.

Music Export
Take your Capo-adjusted music with you. Export speed- and pitch-corrected audio to your iPod, and play along when and where it's most convenient.

Effects
Capo lets you modify panning, adjust a 10-band graphic equalizer, and apply vocal reduction to help you isolate the parts of the music you wish to learn.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.1.3:
  • Added new 'Loop From Beginning' command in the menu (bound to Command-L), that starts playback at the beginning of the loop region.
  • Added 'Play From Previous Marker' command in the menu (bound to Option-Space), that starts playback from the closest marker to the left of the playhead.
  • Capo no longer crashes when exporting using source audio with high sample rates
  • Capo now plays audio with very high sample rates (tested up to 192kHz).
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.5 or later.

ALEXIUSCA  I am REALLY liking this program, and I know this is always a criticism of anything, but the price on this one is quite prohibitive. Student discounts by any chance? I bet that's the biggest market for this! ;)

GREGGY  A really good piece of software. Nice, clean interface compared to Transcribe, though not quite at the level of complexity that Transcribe offers.

If it was a bit cheaper it would be wonderful.

JOELLEVIN  This application is really fantastic for learning music. I play guitar, and being able to slow down a song while trying to learn it is a really massively useful resource. I highly recommend this application to any muscians out there who don't want to look up tabs to learn a song.

ACWOLF  With the new update and ability to export audio, Capo now rivals Amazing Slow Downer. It is about the same price and sounds as good. Capo is only lacking a remembered play-list and the ability to have more variable control over export format and parameters (Capo doesn't do mp3, it does m4a) compared with ASD. ASD also has MIDI controls possible, but capo has decent keyboard command options.

Capo's interface is visually ideal. The only thing that sounds better for slowing down is Melodyne which is hundreds of dollars and is not set up to do this stuff easily, it is designed for more detailed editing. Transcribe has more features than Capo, but is not as simple and appealing or as nice sounding. Anyway, there's now no reason to continue my previous recommendation of Amazing Slow Downer. Capo now supplants ASD in my book.

DANIEL PAGE  Just downloaded this..., this is really slick software. It's got the markers, like from Transcribe! Finally, a better looking transcribe! It does not have some of the more complex transport control of transcribe. It does seem to track changes in the original file location, though, which is awesome. Just emailed the developer about a feature request to have an integrated transcription library, so that it recognizes when you drag a file you've already been working with, and would open the appropriate transcription data.

BENNETT  The only thing I don't like about this app is the awful cliched icon.
