DESCRIPTION
Snowtape... Listen to your Favorite Radio with its high-performance database, Snowtape is able to store thousands of radio stations for you to choose from. You can search for a particular station or sort the list by e.g. genre and bandwidth. You can also add any radio station onto your favorites list to help you quickly find the right station for your current mood.

Instantly Record the Program It's as simple as clicking a button. Hit the record button while listening to your favorite station and recording starts instantly. Snowtape is able to cut the recordings at audio track boundaries automatically. Snowtape can identify potential commercials or interludes. With the built-in track editor you can cut out any interfering audio you do not wish to be exported.

1-Click Export to iTunes Simply click the "Export to iTunes" button and the audio track is encoded to high quality AAC audio and saved right into your iTunes. Album artwork and track titles are automatically exported as iTunes Audio Tags and get incorporated directly into the audio track during export.

Import Internet Playlists Snowtape can import .PLS and .M3U internet playlist files as well as .Webloc URL files. Simply drop your files onto the radio list or choose "Import Files" from the application menu. You can also provide Snowtape playlist or stream URLs. Snowtape checks every URL and only imports those that work.

Drag & Drop iTunes Radio As a bonus, Snowtape also understands items coming directly from iTunes. This means you can easily import a radio station onto Snowtape by clicking and dragging from the iTunes list. It works with any radio station you previously imported to iTunes as well as with the complete iTunes radio catalogue.

Get Album Artwork Snowtape partners with Last.fm to give you the bonus of album artwork and additional album metadata. In most cases, Snowtape can download this information automatically for you. Alternatively, a "Get Album Info" button searches and adds any album info and cover artwork available.

BVILA  Lately I've been having more trouble with Snowtape prematurely cutting tracks, even with overlapping enabled. Is there a way to extend the overlap time? I've tried to leave feedback on the developer's website, but it doesn't seem to take. Hopefully other users have experienced the same thing and have a solution. Thanks!

JAZZYGUY  OK! I Solved this myself. To avoid losing your stations kept locally. You have to place the following Folders on your Desktop. In ~/Documents /Snowtape Change the name to SnowtapeDocuments.~/Library/Metadata/Snowtape. After launching 1.5 Trash the Snowtape Folder in ~/Documents and insert the Folder on your Desktop SnowtapeDocuments.Change the name back to Snowtape. Put the folder Snowtape back into ~/Library/Caches/Metadata ,Then Launch Snowtape and all of your stations will be back.NOW on my G5 I did NOT do any of this but STILL got all my stations.Iused Sparkle to update. On my G4 12"Powerbook I also used Sparkle (the update tab) and lost all my stations and had to use the Directory ending up with 28 stations of my own interest. I have another 12"Powerbook G4 and I followed the example above and got all my stations.I hope this helps someone. I guess I can copy the Metadata and Documents Folder from the other Powerbook to get back the stations previously listed in the LOCAL Directory.

BULLGEEK  Losing your stations with version 1.5 does not appear to be a PPC issue. It happened to me as well and I am on an Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro.

From what I can gather the issue was caused due to Snowtape now using the new online directory instead of a local library on your computer.

JAZZYGUY  I lost ALL my stations! NO stations at all! I went back to the previous version and all was OK! Wrote to the developer and got an acknowledgement computer created.I solved the problem myself.Using a G4 10.5.8 I wouldn't suggest anyone with a G$ or G5 move up to this version.I opened the metadata in ~/library/caches and the stations were MOVED! Where ??? Who knows because Spotlight indicated that they were NOT moved.

CHAOTICPIXEL  I like version 1.5. It is a great improvement. The only problem is my old library of recorded music is now not recognized by Snowtape. Plus, all my old "favorited" stations are now gone. Is there a way to get it all back? That is, other than manually?

CHAOTICPIXEL  This is a great radio player/recorder program. I have decided to purchase it, and I have not looked back since.

Pros: Awesome interface, records songs with artwork, song name, artist and album (if broadcast by station). It will stop and start a new recording when the song changes, so there is no need to worry about stopping a song at the right time. Or, you can just let it run and it will do everything for you. You can also edit the song's start point and end point to remove commercials or unwanted audio very easily, then export it to iTunes.

Cons: The mini player does not play well with spaces. I would like to be able to use another service other than iTunes for the "Buy" (would rather have "Get More Info" functionality) functionality. I would like to be able to edit the genres within the directory (rename, delete).

Summery: This is a fantastic radio player/recorder with all the functionality you could want, and is worth the money. I enjoy every moment I use it.
