DESCRIPTION

XBOXSUMO  Works very good for converting files from ipod to computer. Next time needs to be able to convert apps to computer.

CHRIS DEVOR  To transfer Apps and files that were purchased directly on the iPhone or iPod Touch: You can do this with iTunes directly. Right-click your ipod, then select "transfer purchases." This will copy your Apps over.

RICHARD APPLEBAUM  I recently had a hard drive failure and did not have a current backup (my last backup was about 1.5 years old). Among the irreplaceable files I lost were audio tracks recorded on my iPhone using the built-in Voice Memo application. Although prior to the crash I had synced the iPhone, I had not yet deleted the Voice Memo files from the iPhone. Unfortunately, Apple does not have a solution to restore files "from" an iPhone "to" iTunes.

However, there's an amazing application that bridges the "need to restore" gap -- Chris Devor's Freeware application "Pod To Mac." Using Pod To Mac I was able to restore all of my lost audio files, playlists, etc. including any music from my "Library" and "Voice Memo's" from my iPhone. How hard was it to use? Three or four steps that are clearly and well documented on the Pod To Mac website.

TGN  My need was simple: needed to reset my wife's iPod and I wanted to copy her playlists to my Mac so that I didn't have to re-create them manually. There are many programs on the web like this and virtually all of their websites were written in such poor English that I could not trust any of them. And virtually all of those other programs cost up to $30 which I was ready and willing to pay! I was pleasantly surprised to find your site and your software - it works perfectly! And I was shocked to see this is freeware. Dude, you should totally be charging people for this!!!!

CNY  Just updated my 13" MBP to Snow Leopard. Copied my iTunes Library to my 60Gb Classic from my iMac. Connected it to my MBP. Used Pod to Mac. Voila - my iTunes Library plus folders etc are now on my Laptop. Simple, quick, effortless and worked fully as advertised.

JACKIE55555  This program is a lifesaver. I have a Max OS 10.5.6 with

Leopard and a classic IPod and it worked without a hitch.

Considering you only usually need to transfer your stuff

once to the new computer and then you can take it from

there. It is nice to not get hit with another huge bill.

JUPITERISLANDER  Wonderful software application. I couldn't believe how fast and easy it was to transfer music from my iphone to my mac. Developer was extremely kind and helpful. He replied immediately to a question I had. Being a novice, I appreciated this a great deal. Thumbs up!!

REVCO  Not working for me. App launches but does not display contents of iPod. I have a 2G Touch on 10.5.7. Also noticed iTunes launches shortly after opening Pod to Mac. Is that supposed to happen.

ANONYMOUS  Yes. iTunes is supposed to open (this is written in the Pod to Mac FAQs). One of the first instructions in Pod to Mac (done via the apple script interface) is to pause iTunes if it is playing music as this helps with the transfer in some cases.

If you have trouble with Pod to Mac it may be a result of the new iPhone 3.0 firmware which uses entirely new databases. If you e-mail the databases on your iPod (I can let you know how to find this), then I would be happy to debug the software to make it work with your iPod or iPhone (this shouldn't take more than 24 hours).
