DESCRIPTION
StockLookupMBI is a Mac menubar item which enables you to view the price of a few select stocks, precious metals and other data quickly and easily from your menu bar. More!

Use the system preference pane to add and remove stocks from the menu. Click the "Add Stock Symbol" button to create an editable text cell whose contents are initially "????". Click down on this edit field to start an edit session and then simply type the symbol of the stock you want in the menu. The company name will be added for you.

Also use the Preferences window to select various other options such as console logging and the inclusion of "after hours" and "real time" quotes in menu items, charts, "headlines" and additional stock data (This data includes the following items: last trade, trade time, previous close, open, bid, ask, 1y target estimate, day's range, 52 wk range, volume, avg volume (3m), market cap, P/E (ttm), EPS (ttm) and div & yield.)

The display in the menu bar can show a "stock ticker" for the stock symbols entered in the system preference pane. Turn this option off/on in the settings pane of the preference window. (Note: the data for this feature is almost real time, but the rate of refresh is configurable in the preference pane. Also, the data source differs from the data source used to display stock information inside the menu, so results may appear slightly different.)

Data is provided by various websites. See the list inside the Preferences window of the system preference pane.

StockLookupMBI is part of the Limit Point Software Utilities Bundle : http://www.limit-point.com/Utilities.html. Purchase a Utilities password to activate all the utilities, including StockLookupMBI. Upgrades are free, new utilities are included.

StockLookupMBI initially runs for about ten days without a registered password.

    ANONYMOUS  Hello.

I have some comments to make in response to yours.

    • StockLookupMBI is not sold individually but rather as a part of my extensive collection of software I call the "Utility Bundle". It's quite a good deal!

FREE updates to all software, always.

    Read about it here:

    http://www.limit-point.com/Utilities.html

    • Your rating seems to have nothing to do with the program itself and its features, but rather that it costs money.

    • The program is as real time as the web sources are. Every time you invoke it the values are reloaded off the internet. (See the system preference pane for a list of data sources.)

    • It only takes up about 20 pixles on the menu bar.

    • I prefer this functionality as a menu bar item than a widget. Why should I have to invoke all the widgets just to get a quick update on the stocks I want to monitor periodically through the day? This is quick, easy and very convenient.

    • Finally I am very receptive to ideas. So suggestions for improvements are very welcome. Send email directly to me at joe@limit-point.com

    Ciao!
