RIDOGI  This is as good as flash is bad. That is to say very good indeed. Maybe a sort or find option for the white list would be nice, but that is a minor complaint. This is an excellent program.

STEVERB511  "This is as good as flash is bad." The problem isn't really that Flash is bad, its developers/designers/managers who use it badly. I've had to fend off customers and managers from time-to-time who want to use it as "beads for the natives" rather than just using it where its animation and programming features are appropriate for the content. Flash is a tool that can be used for evil or good -- designers and managers need to be more educated and judicious in its use. ClickToFlash helps deal with evil part. Hear that Flashkit.com? (And many others.)

JON555  This is the most amazing browser add-on ever. My battery life has doubled (which is not really Safari's fault, Flash is horribly slow). That and the option to use h264 instead of flash makes this the perfect thing for any Safari user. Keep up the awesome work devs!

ERUNNO  This is a great plug-in. Once feature I really miss though is the ability to whitelist Flash applets *from* a domain and not *on* a domain. This would allow all first party flash elements like menus and YouTube (if whitelisted) but still block all Flash ads which are usually served by third-party advertisement services.

BLLOYD  Such an awesome tool. A _real_ plug-in (i.e. not an InputManager or SIMBL "hack") so it's completely compatible with Safari. Blocks all Flash, and you have the option to enable on a one-off basis or for specific sites.

No more "surprises" on web sites, and it saves a lot of CPU when you go to sites that are Flash ad heavy. On portables, this will also save you some battery life, and probably save your privates a bit as well if you use the machine in your lap.

JON555  This app is a lifesaver. No, really. If you haven't downloaded it yet, do it now. It will save you so much headache it's not even funny.

All those flash ads (or any flash for that matter) just looks like an empty box with the Flash symbol in the middle. Nothing Flash-related loads unless you click on it to do so (or you could simply add that site to a list that always allows Flash from that site). It's a fantastic app that's very feature-rich. It has definitely helped my battery's charge to last longer on my MacBook Pro.

Keep up the awesome work devs!

JEFFREY HARRIS  This thing is better than I had hoped.

I use the Glims Safari plug-in to reload multiple browser windows, with multiple tabs open in each. After quitting Safari or logging out, it can take a minute or more to reload all my tabs (sometimes 20 or more). ClicktoFlash cut that time down to mere seconds. I was stunned at how quickly I was able to actually use Safari again after relaunching.

I have no idea about the stability of the thing at this point, but it feels like I got my browser back!

JOHNNY ROCKET  1.5.2 will not install on 2 of my systems through the update feature. gets error at end. Then when I download the stand alone installer and run it, it completely removes clicktoflash and won't install it. This is on 2 systems, one running 10.5.8 and one running 10.6.1

JOELEE  On my Santa Rosa based Macbook Pro, with the buggy NVidia GPU, my CPU & GPU temperature hits 83 C (181 F) when I display web pages with lots of Flash animation. Apple has just replaced a new Logic Board recently for free after the GPU stopped working, but it still hits the same temperature of 80 C+ occasionally (My iMac never exceed 60 C).

Thank you for ClickToFlash, now I can suppress those unnecessary Flash on my MBP and hopefully extending its life until I am able to afford a new MBP...

JOECAP5  I install ClickToFlash recently because flash eats up so much CPU.

I actually found with ClickToFlash installed the CPU was being used twice as much even when the flash was still being blocked. So I uninstalled it. Maybe it does that because it's a beta. I'm going to try some other tools.
