Radium puts a small radio icon at the top right of your menu bar (where the clock, battery, AirPort are), through which the app is used.

You can email us at support@catpigstudios.com if it gives you trouble.

Thanks! =)

FROGUTS  I like it. I hate the way itunes handles radio stations, and for the most part I only want to listen to NPR or whatever from time to time while I work. The menubar interface makes it so easy to just to click and go back to work. Since I could care less about audiohijack pro, and find it irrelevant, I'll give it 5 stars. thanks.

NOTAFOOL  For the life of me I STILL cannot get Radium 2.3 to work with Audio Hijack Pro - despite CatPig's assurance that it is, indeed, possible to record Radium audio streams via Audio Hijack Pro. I have followed CatPig's instructions on here (i.e. to use "System" as the input) but it simply does NOT work. Radium itself works fine, but my Audio Hijack Pro CANNOT record it for me. Can anyone who has actually succeeded in getting these 2 applications to satisfactorily work together please inform me just how he/she did it ? I've tried everything I can possibly think of !! And CatPig, WHY is it that you stream your audio in a manner that is plainly NON-standard ? I have NO problems whatsoever in recording audio streams from other internet sources using Audio Hijack Pro.

My computer details are:-

Model Name: iMac

Model Identifier: iMac7,1

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo

Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz

Number Of Processors: 1

Total Number Of Cores: 2

L2 Cache: 4 MB

Memory: 4 GB

Bus Speed: 800 MHz

Boot ROM Version: IM71.007A.B03

SMC Version (system): 1.21f4

Running Mac OSX 10.5.8

AZANONCELLO  Very simple to use and convenient. Compatible with many online radio stations and even has a favorites for those stations you like a lot. When it comes to price how can you complain their site http://www.catpigstudios.com/radium/ says "If you choose to buy the program, you pick the price." Developers are easy to contact and very helpful as well.

Thanks for a great application.

ANONYMOUS  Hi!

Radium works with Audio Hijack Pro. Here's how to record stuff:

1. Open Radium and Audio Hijack Pro

2. In Audio Hijack Pro, choose "System Audio" in the "Input" category.

3. Play music in Radium.

NOTAFOOL  It does NOT work reliably at all. SOMETIMES it works, and more often than not it simply does NOT work. There is no rhyme or reason. It is totally erratic as to whether it works or not. Quite plainly "Radium" uses a NON-STANDARD method to deliver its audio stream. EVERY other audio stream that I record via Audio Hijack Pro I record by selecting the appropriate application as the "input". NEVER "System Audio". "Radium" is the ONLY audio application that does NOT work as an "input" the way that others do. And it does NOT work at all well with even "System Audio" chosen. I am aware that the Developer states that it works fine, but all I can say is that, FOR ME, it definitely does NOT. More important, however, is the question as to WHY "RAdium" uses a totally non-standard way of delivering its audio stream ?

NOTAFOOL   I wrote to Rogue Amoeba, which produces "Audio Hijack Pro", about my inability to record anything from "Radium".

It responded as follows:-

"It may be that Radium is using a nonstandard method of audio playback. One thing that might work is if you set Audio Hijack Pro to use MegaMix.

To do so, follow these steps:

1. Make sure that Audio Hijack Pro is not currently hijacking audio.

2. With Radium selected as the audio source in Audio Hijack Pro, go to the Input tab and click "Advanced"

3. Select "Hijack all audio streams (MegaMix) and click OK.

4. Try hijacking as before.

Let us know what happens."

I tried all that and STILL Audio Hijack Pro totally refuses to record anything at all from Radium. I have written back to Rogue Amoeba and am awaiting its firther suggestions.

But in the meantime, BE WARNED. Radium does NOT work with Audio Hijack Pro. Which is pretty strange given that EVERY other audio sorce I own works perfectly with it.

ANONYMOUS  Contrary to the review by "DANA SUTTON", Radium has a favorites feature that's clearly stated in a) The program's description, and b) in the screenshot.

We'd appreciate it if people wrote their reviews in an accurate way, instead of misguiding potential users.

NOTAFOOL  So where precisely IS the "Favorites" feature ? How does one access it ? Like Dana I cannot find it either. Perhaps if the application came with some real useful inbuilt HELP, the Developer would not have to berate users who do not like the application all that much. I have had considerable correspondence with the Developer about aspects of this application that I don't like, and have found him to be testy and unpleasant when he receives ANY negative feedback.

NOTAFOOL  I agree with Dana Sutton. The interface is very poor indeed. There is also no inbuilt "Help" whatsoever. And the Licence Key that one is sent if one chooses to register this application has over EIGHTY (yes 80) characters in it. I had the devil of a job registering the product and had to write to the Developer for CLEAR instructions as to how to do so. The instructions supplied in the application itself simply did NOT work. Not good ! I am now trying to RECORD from the application, using my "Audio Hijack Pro", but Radium TOTALLY refuses to work with Audio Hijack Pro. Audio Hijack Pro works beautifully with EVERY other audio source I have. But NOT at all with Radium. So what's up ?

DANA SUTTON  This is a good applicaiton that works as advertised (and the price certainly is right), and unlike some similar applications, it doesn't take up any space in the Dock. All to the good. What's not so good is the interface, in two ways. 1.) The stations in any particular Web service are displayed in alphabetical order (rather than being grouped together by categories in the manner of iTunes and the AOL Radio application), and are displayed in a rather small window, and when you are addressing a service which offers a large number of choices this makes it too difficult to browse stations. 2.) It doesn't have a Favorites or Return to Last Station Played feature, so if you have a favorite station you have to re-access it manually every time you launch Radium. To be sure, the Search feature makes this easier, but it's still not as good as an auto play-on-launch option.

ANONYMOUS  The application certainly supports favourites. Each channel has a star next to it; click it, and it becomes a favourite. Click the big star at the top to view your favourites.
