ANONYMOUS Good afternoon gprovan, I understand your critique, but I have to say it is misinformed and misleading to others who might read it. Hard Copy is portable, it doesn't need to be installed and depending on your internet/network setup, you only need to make a few changes and never touch them again. Hard Copy is intended as a *free* replacement for faxing. Last time I checked, you had to pay for fax to e-mail, or any free variants plagued you with advertisements. The whole point of Hard Copy is that everything is instant in the same manner as a physical fax machine. The reason I developed Hard Copy in the first place is that I noticed in my college an awful lot of running around to pass messages to lecturers who were lecturing, which interrupts lectures and causes a lot of people walking around the building when they should be working. The problem with e-mail is that, yes, the recipient prints it off at their leisure. If someone in a lecture needs to go somewhere urgently, the lecturer would have to check their email, whereas it would be easier to just pick something off a printing tray and read it quickly. Speed, speed, speed - it's all about speed my friend, room to room, building to building, either way it's super-fast. As for the letterhead complaint, I'm going to take that on as a possible option for the next release, so users can have an offset for letterheaded-paper. Thanks! (Version 2.5) |
