NONTROPPO  This is a very simple, but very useful app. Most importantly it uses OpenMeta (which they first developed), which means the metadata tags and ratings are usable by many other new tagging apps. I use Tagit along with the awesome Openmeta tagging plugin for Quicksilver, allowing very fast tagging and retrieving across applications.

ALPERY74  This software is the best in my trials so far. No crashes, good integration with spotlight. Needs more work on tag management though.

JAW3000  Works well for tagging and searching with Spotlight - much better than Spotlight comments. Nice interface! I'm glad to see an opensource solution to the tagging problem - hopefully some other devs will pick it up.

However, it would be nice to be able to delete tags that are no longer in use, and it would be great if Tagit could somehow scan and identify similar tags made by other tagging software (Tags comes to mind).

PIZZACAKE  I finally gave up on Spotlight Comments about a year ago. They were just too unreliable. The underlying unix tools would report one thing and the Finder another!

Openmeta sounds like Spotmeta, any relation? Anyhow extended attributes is probably the best way forward. If this tagging solution is reliable it will be a nice complement to hierarchical folders and fill an important need. I'm certainly gonna give it a go.

MARK97  I found this little app and started using it to help me catalog all the files on my drives. I like it because it does one thing and does it well. The price is also right!

My favorite feature, the drop zone on the right side of the screen was my favorite feature ( which appears to have been removed from version 1.1). It allowed you to drag a file to it and add tags. You can do the same by dragging an item to the icon, but I like the tab better.

This app has a lot of promise and I look forward to watching it develop. I would suggest they change the preferences to allow the drop zone to be turned on or off so that everyone is happy.
