DESCRIPTION
QuickTemp Desktop... The rapid way to convert temperatures. Use the top slider for coarse and the bottom slider for fine adjustments in the temperature and watch the values change in realtime. Great if somebody mentions a temperature and you need a quick way to get a rough idea what it translates to. If you want exact conversions, simply type a value into one of the fields and the others will update accordingly. Converts to and from degrees Celsius, degrees Fahrenheit and degrees Réaumur. In podcasts, on TV shows and in online conversations, temperatures will come up when talking about the weather, drinks, cooking, computers, etc. I wanted to have a quick frame of reference for international conversations. Is that freezing? Is it boiling? Now I know!
WHAT'S NEW
Version 1.1:
  • added support for direct temperature entry to the textfields
  • increased accuracy of sliders

LASTFUTURE  The interface is very intriguing. Sure it's only made for temperatures but it does that very very well, and way faster than fumbling around with a full fledged units converter.

CHAS_M  This functionality is already present in the (much more handy) conversion widget, part of every Mac OS X desktop for years now. The slider idea is cute, I guess, and you can't complain about the price -- but can't really see any point to downloading this when I already have a tool that will convert not just temps, but currency, volume, distance and a dozen other measures just as easily.

    TALLIS  nice. comes in handy.

Compared to the conversion tool I built myself (with filemaker) this one looks and feels much cooler ...
