JASONAYALA  To get lyrics, you need to decide if you want to use lyricwiki as a source. If not, there's the tunetext widget and pear lyrics widget/app. I think lyricwiki is better, and so my options (since the loss of lyricwiki API due to big media crackdown) are Get Lyrical and iClip Lyrics. Both can add lyrics automatically to current track or your whole library. GL is free but basic and adds an ad for itself and lyricwiki at the end of your lyrics (Lyric retrieved via blah blah). iClip has extra features and is 9 dollars.

Suggestions for iClip developer:

1) Lower the price to $5. Nobody pays for lyrics, so you'll need to over us a very good reason to.

2) iClip sometimes adds info from LW that isn't part of the lyrics (Find this song on amazon).

3) Tighter integration between iClip and LW. At least give me a link to the song page at LW so I can quickly edit the LW page. Being able to actually make changes to the song under my LW username within iClip would be incredible.

4) LW is constantly improving, but I don't want to have to run iClip on my library every several weeks. Keep a database in iClip of all the songs I've added lyrics to with a date for each song. iClip can compared current lyrics in itunes to the LW lyrics, and update if necessary.

thank you for your suggestions and features request!

We are going to release an update to fix the problem with extra info in the lyrics (due to some changes about the website of lyricwiki) and improve the compatibility with Snow Leopard!

kind regards,

SUPERTHEMAN  You have a couple of grammatical mistakes in the description of your program. I suppose it isn't important, but it does impact the professional presentation of your product. They are as follows:

"If you need an app to add quickly and easily lyrics to your iTunes Library..."

This is clumsy, instead you would say:

"If you need an app to add lyrics to your iTunes Library quickly and easily..."

The second one is:

"... that let you very fastly "Clip lyrics" from the web"

First of all, in this instance you should use "lets" not "let". Secondly, the adjective "fast" does not take on an -ly ending (there is a word "fastly", however, which means "firm"). The sentence should be rewritten:

"...that lets you quickly clip lyrics from the web..."

Please don't think my purpose is to make fun of you. I can assure you that is not my intention. I am just trying to help.

THE GRAPHIC MAC  I wasn't optimistic about this app - It seems like every other app that does this fails (at least for me) to find 90% of the lyrics for my songs.

But I was pleasantly surprised to see that iClip Lyrics found the lyrics to virtually every song I tried it with - including live versions of songs where I had customized the name of the song by adding (Live) to the name.

The fact that it took only a second or two for each song to have the lyrics pasted in (automatically) means that you can quickly got through a lot of songs by hitting the Next button in iTunes if you wish.

I for one am VERY thankful that this was a true application, and NOT a Dashboard Widget - which I hate. No need for album art, iTunes already does that natively.

BEAMY  Great program !

I tried it with several songs from different artists and it found the correct lyrics. It is easy to use.

Thank you for making a real program and not a widget.

STEVEN GOODHEART  Always looking for a better, faster, more accurate way to get lyrics into my iTunes music library, I said, "what the heck," I'll give this a try. Used for an hour and bought it.

This is the most accurate, versatile lyric finder I've ever used, and the interface is brilliant. When it doesn't automatically find and put lyrics in your song, which hasn't been often except for really obscure songs I own, iClip Lyrics then has a built-in web browser that automatically finds all the lyric search engines out there, and lets you click and choose. Now, instead of having to go to my browser to do my own search, the search is integrated right into the iClip. And when you do find it via your own search (powered by Google, with customizable settings in iClip) you just highlight them in iClip's browser page and it instantly copies and inserts your selection right into the song. Brilliant! This is the lyric search software I've been looking for. Highly recommended!

KBEAT  It works, it actually works. Launch the app, start playing songs in iTunes, and magically the lyrics will appear in the song. No errors, no user input, no problems.

After trying widget after widget after widget, I have to admit I'm a bit stunned. It can't be this simple can it? I don't have to look them up? I don't have to tell it to copy the lyrics to iTunes? No "lyrics not found" messages?

I'm amazed it took this long for someone to make a lyric tool for iTunes that actually works, but hats off to you for finally getting it right. Great job!

NOIVAD  IClip Lyrics has been a bit of a godsend. It costs money, but that's because it does what it says it does. It grabs lyrics off of the lyricwiki and sticks them in the file. This is great because it seems to work with a great deal of my music. I only had one problem after I updated to 10.6, which I assume was fixed with the latest upgrade. It wouldn't clip the lyrics if I had to use the find lyrics feature.

Also I like that if it can't find the lyrics, with the click of a button you can look up the lyrics in google.

One small feature request: if you could specify for it not to overwrite lyrics already there and automatically grab only lyric entries that are blank I could just have it run through my entire library once and for all, but as it is I've spent a lot of time compiling lyrics, and I'm afraid if I apply this program already set lyrics it might over write them.

Another feature I love is being able to process an entire playlist in one go.

All is all it was well worth the cash I paid for it considering how much time it's saved me and how much I love having the lyrics in the song files to look up.

thank you for your review!

About your feature request: when you launch a search for a full playlist, iClip Lyrics, by default, don't overwrite your lyrics! If you want to overwrite them, you can customize this option from the "General" preferences pane!

JDANEK630  This is a fantastic application, I have had no problems with it whatsoever.

This comment is more of a suggestion (or possibly a question): Is there/will there be a way in which a user can disable the bouncing icon when lyrics are located after starting a song in iTunes? I find the bouncing icon to be a bit of a distraction myself. It's not a big deal either way though.

PL_SVN  Since pearLyrics stopped working I couldn't find a good replacement.

Finally tried iClip Lyrics and... it's exactly what I've been looking for (well... almost ;-)

Purchased it right away! :-)

Grazie, Luigi!

(re that "almost": what I deeply loved in pearLyrics was the widget always running in background. I even forgot it was there silently doing it's job :-)
