Highbrow enables anyone to utilize each installed web browser more effectively on the Mac by eliminating the annoyances that arise from using multiple web browsers. With Highbrow, the user can select any of three separate behaviors.
Users can easily switch the system-wide web browser via the Highbrow menu in the Mac's menubar.
Highbrow can change the browser on the fly as the user shifts between web browsers.
Highbrow can ask users which browser to use each time they click a link via an unintrusive heads-up display.
JESHYR It does what it does fantastically, but I wish I could let it know to open certain URLs in certain browsers. I have a bunch of Fluid browsers - one for Twitter and one for Facebook for example - and I'd love all my twitter.com URLs to automatically go to the Twitter fluid instance, and so on.
The functions it has now are great, but the one I described would be compelling and I'd certainly buy it then! (Version 1.0.1)
CURLYPAWS I often run a couple of other browsers alongside Safari, and when I do so I would like any links to open in my current browser. Highbrow makes this possible without the need to visit Safari’s preferences. Everything from NetNewsWire through to Mail then open their links in my current browser.
I can also get Highbrow to check which browser to open a link in.
It may be a niche application, but it works very well. I’ve found Helium Foot to be fast and friendly too if I’ve needed to ask any questions. (Version 1.0)
SIGIL I really was looking for something like this. So many times have I clicked on a link and it opened a browser that I didn't want to use, especially in Mail. This solves that problem. Additionally , it is a browser launcher. Personally, this app works for me...BIG TIME! I'll be buying this one! (Version 1.0b)
