DESCRIPTION
QuickWho provides a handy graphical interface to the Unix "whois" command-line utility, which is used to find out more about who registered a particular Internet domain name. Are you curious about who owns a particular domain name? Do you want to contact them, or gather more information about them? QuickWho can help you with these tasks. QuickWho compared to other "whois" tools: * Simpler than using the command-line. Type, hit return, and view the data. *Faster than other GUI tools: tree view makes it easy to query multiple servers with mouse or keyboard clicks. * Less cumbersome than using an Internet-based whois tool. No need to load web page into browser. * Pleasant-to-use, Mac-native interface.

  • Quickly query multiple servers for whois information by browsing tree view.
  • Configure text display through preferences menu.

SJK  And exactly how is QuickWho an improvement over the Whois tab of the bundled Network Utility app that lets you select a whois server? Sorry, but this sure comes across as a suckerware product.

JOELLEVIN  $20? Are you kidding me? Why not just open the terminal do it by hand, it's just as fast and free. Or, what about going to whois.org and doing their free domain lookup? I was about to download this, but the fact that it's $20 is a huge turnoff... if I really wanted a GUI app equivalent to this, I would just write one for myself for free in 10 minutes.

Give us some powerful features not available elsewhere if you're looking for $20.
