PleaseSleep is a utility software designed for Mac OS X that helps put your computer to sleep when you know some other app is preventing your Mac from going to sleep.
PleaseSleep sits in the background and waits for the sleep timer you set in Energy Saver preferences pane. Depending on the preferences you set, PleaseSleep will try to put your computer to sleep when the scheduled sleep timer kicks in. PleaseSleep is very easy to configure, you can enable, disable, and access its preferences via the system menu bar icon. You can choose to have PleaseSleep activate the sleep function all the time, or you can tell PleaseSleep to activate the sleep function only when certain apps are running.

BVILA I want to love this product because my Mac has insomnia, but PleaseSleep doesn't always work. I come back to my computer often to find that it's still awake. I was excited to see the addition of the Do Not Force Sleep screen, and that seems to work just fine. But PleaseSleep needs to force sleep any time it's supposed to. It seems to be only marginally better than Energy Saver. (Version 2.0)
ANDREW SCOTT Lately I've found that my iMac is awake when I return to it after a day at work or in the morning. I don't know what's keeping it awake but it really annoys me. PleaseSleep does what it says quietly and efficiently. Although I've only been running it a short time I'm very pleased with the result. I'm happy to make a donation in a week or so when it's proven to be stable. (Version 1.0)
153957PHOTOGRAPHY I think PROPOSAL rather meant that the software should give you the reason why your mac wouldn't go to sleep, so you can potentially fix it, or at least know the cause. And not just software that stops your system from sleeping. (Version 1.0)
