Sponge is a tool to keep your Mac clean and tidy. With Sponge you can reclaim your disk space by:
Removing applications.
Sponge will tell you what applications are installed on your system, how much space they use, and where they are located. If you find any applications you no longer need, Sponge will remove them safely and swiftly for you.
Sweeping disk hogs.
If you're running out of disk space but don't know where to start cleaning up, let Sponge show you which files and directories take up the most space. Once you've tracked them down, let Sponge conveniently swipe them off your disk.
Finding duplicates.
With all the attachments, memos, letters and other documents with which we are flooded in today's world, it's easy to lose track where we've saved what. Sponge makes finding and deleting duplicate files a breeze.
This update makes Sponge ready for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and is recommended for all users. Sponge will continue to work on Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and 10.5 Leopard.
DON MORRIS I was looking for the "Disk Hogs" feature, so I'll only comment on that. On my 250MB disk, about 75% full, the scan took much more time than any of the other utilities I tried. Also, considering only that feature, OmniDiskSweeper is $26 less (free). Add AppZapper ($13), AppDelete ($5) or AppTrap (free), along with any number of duplicate file utilities, and you can pay half as much (or nothing) for the same features as Sponge. (Version 1.2.1)
